    Exactly. Dr Drew even hypothesized in the beginning that Tyler picks up on the imprint people leave on us. He also mentioned Tyler’s meditative state and how “it feels like you’re with him.” I was surprised he didn’t include Steve-O on the scanning.

    I agree that that would be interesting to do, but I think the Dr was going through some verbal acrobatics to try to make up a theory for what is happening with a reading...people imprinting impressions on each other as an explanation of readings by a medium sounds more incoherent than other descriptions, like there is a consciousness that anyone can tap into, and a medium is sensitive in the ways that make him able to extract the kind of detail that he does.

  • @xanperia

    @xanperia

    @@psamkeast I'm not suggesting that everything we take as "paranormal" now can be explained scientifically in the near future. What I'm trying to say is that maybe in the future some of the things as we currently think of as paranormal or impossible to be true, turns out to be measurable and thus paranormal becomes normal. Just like lightning was believed to be a weapon of Zeus for the early Greeks, but now we obviously know it wasn't. I know what the basic steps of the scientific method are since these were taught in middle school. But try to think bigger, think 1000 years from now - what capabilities do we have then for research? Or do you think we as humans have reached our peak in knowledge and we won't involve any further? Many things that are normal to us nowadays would have been seen as impossible, otherworldly, or paranormal in the past. I mean, for example, in some point in the history, we know that women did get burnt to death if they managed to cure someone with their medicine. And so on. I really doubt there are no amazing new discoveries in the far future that would seem to us not normal or not possible for us today. I'm sure you understand what I mean. I'm a big sceptic of most paranormal claims, yet I'm open to the idea that there might be something that turns out to be real. For example, I'd like to think that maybe our mind is much, much more powerful than we know and who knows what we actually are capable if we only knew more. Another example - I've seen an UFO that defied the physics laws that we know and I'm 100% sure of what I saw. Many will say "it's not possible!", yet more and more high-ranking witnesses are coming out to say that hey, there's really something going on. I'm sure there's tons of stuff we humans are unable to comprehend yet. Doesn't mean science as we know it now can't catch up with what we don't know today.

    That "door" your mentioned is a metaphor to the brain receptors that acts as an antenna that connects to the Universal consciousness within all of us. The dimensions around and within us is not a place but a vibrational alignment to the frequency of the Universe. And the pineal gland within the brain system helps us understand and tap into extrasensory perceptions creating that "door" to the spiritual world. It may seem like a gift because not everyone is attuned to this, and not everyone is aware of this ability. But some do, some are ready, and only some embrace this as a "gift" not a "curse."

    The most important finding for me is at 16:10 when Dr. Pinsky says to Tyler, "Often times when you say 'I see,' your actual visual area kind of shuts down." That makes sense within the notion that the brain channels our consciousness to the physical world, and only when this focus is released can we see into the astral realm beyond.

    The doctors appear to be invested in the belief that Tyler is only connecting with the person he’s reading and that’s how he gets his information. If they can “prove” that theory is correct, they can remain in their concrete mind set that everything is physical and that Tyler’s brain just has an ability that’s a throw back from ancient man before meaningful speech communication was developed…or some similar physically related explanation. They are likely invested in conclusions like these to avoid the cognitive dissonance and professional risk that would come with believing Tyler is communicating with those who have passed on. These two docs seem like genuinely nice guys but due to their profession they probably cannot consider anything but the concrete scientific model they are invested in. I’d imagine at least one of them or maybe both attend church and or have a religious faith and if so they actually do have a belief in the unseen. I guess it’s a societal thing that some “unseen” or spiritual concepts are acceptable and some are not. However…if everything is energy then (in my opinion) it’s completely logical that there is obviously something in each of us that lives beyond death. As a matter of fact…even the most conservative churches acknowledge this idea. So…if that’s the case then why is it so hard to accept the idea that if consciousness continues after death that someone like Tyler couldn’t communicate with them? I believe the reason is because the doctors and scientists don’t have a model to “prove” it and anything that skates on the edge of this concept or deviates away from the scientific model is professional suicide. However…these guys must have some questions about all of it that don’t fit the scientific narrative and I hope they figure out a way to “prove” it to those who they consider to matter in a way that those whose opinions matter can accept.

    It's good to see Steve-O looking so healthy. We recovered/recovering alcoholics/addicts are usually pretty good at spotting evidence of someone's sobriety just by looking at them -- it shows on their faces and in their words/behavior. Also, I've seen other psychics having their brain waves recorded while doing "blind" readings (for subjects previously unknown to them), and the results were fascinating. The scientists in charge were like, Whoa, this is amazing.

    Dr Drew isnt a doctor, at least not in the field that would be relevant for this "scientific" test. Dr Drew is a media personality mostly known for being involved with trashy Hollywood stuff. He is a physician and listed as an "addiction medicine specialist", which isn't at all relevant to this case. Dr Drew's presence here is completely redundant and adds absolutely nothing, other than being recognizable face but I guess that's the point. As far as the other guy is concerned, and his "peak brain institute". It's a relatively small institue (at least judging by the statistics) that is focused on selling people their services of "brain training". From their website: "your recording is compared to a database of thousands of “typical” brains, with age matched. All QEEG recordings are inspected to rule out dramatic issues, and identify patterns that diverge from typical. This information helps identify functional resources of your brain, and helps target your goals for peak brain performance. Don’t be concerned about being compared to average, we are all weird. The point is not to find differences from typical, but to see if they matter, and inform avenues you can pursue for change." How this is in anyway relevant to a person being psychic is beyond me. They never make an argument or observation in this video that "proves" anything, they don't provide any actual references to what the typical results of a "non-psychic" would be or make any actual scientific tests. They're just making hyperbolic claims about the "data" without giving any good explanation behind i. And since they so heavily base their opinions on QEEG readings, I want to give some bulletpoints about QEEG from "quackwatch": qEEG has a few medically accepted uses (most notably in some cases of epilepsy), but some practitioners go far beyond what has been proven or even suggested by mainstream researchers. In 1997, the American Academy of Neurology and the American Clinical Neurophysiology Society noted that “qEEG techniques are very predisposed to false-positive errors” and concluded that qEEG should be considered investigational for clinical use in post-concussion syndrome, mild-to-moderate head injury, learning disability, attention disorders, schizophrenia, depression, alcoholism, and drug abuse. Aetna now says: No current guidelines from leading medical professional organizations recommend the use of qEEG as a screening test for neurological and psychiatric conditions. Clinical studies have demonstrated distinctive forms of brain electrical activity in a few psychiatric conditions, but the clinical significance of these distinctive patterns of brain wave activity is unknown. No published peer-reviewed studies of the use of qEEG screening for these conditions show that management is altered such that clinical outcomes are improved.

    We are energy which can be neither created or destroyed ;-) we've been here before and we may choose to come back if we desire. we hold on to emotions in our body, which manifests an illness and disease because our energy chakras are blocked, and they must be released through crying or other methods, being in water or being around water etcetera. There has to be a sort of cleansing. That's why the agenda of the corrupt, long ago, was to convince people that men shouldn't cry which will break their bodies down sooner rather than later, just another reason you'll see women living longer than men. you must have an outlet like crying or speaking about it to another😢

    This was so very interesting! I remember Theresa Caputo doing this and test and her results were the same. It's like they are sleeping while doing a reading. I wonder if she experienced some sort of brain issue. Tyler said he had his abilities before his brain was exposed to his brain surgery. This is so very interesting!!!! And how can you not love Tyler Henry!!! I want to meet him so very bad!!!

    I found this so fascinating. My oldest daughter and I are strong believers in what mediums can do (some are fake yes but some are so true). I would love to see more of these studies as well as the follow up on Tyler’s studies. I too wish you had Steve-O connected to see his brain activity as he was receiving the reading, that would have been fantastic as well. Great job doctors! 👏

    Dr Drew introduces the other guy as an expert but then dominates the discussion of conclusive findings. I was really interested in hearing the expert’s perspective. Also, Dr Drew’s opinion about Tyler not getting info from “dead” people, but rather he’s just pulling info from Stevo is not gleaned from evidence or science. I would love to see this sort of study in more depth.

    Tyler does the same thing I do when I say something I’m not sure if the person is gonna be okay with that being said or not. He takes it and says it very quickly and happily like “please don’t be upset with this” I love Tyler

    Tyler is adorable to conduct this reading with that funny hat . I feel like protecting him from the skeptics. He is so sweet and the level of love he brings when he meets anyone is his biggest shield. It’s truly mind blowing ! I aspire to be like that .

    It was interesting to watch Tyler do the entire reading without flinching that the contraption was on his head and body. His reading still came through just as it would have any other time. Of course his brain waves will be on another level. He isn't making it up, he is receiving. It is what it is.
