Because your anxious. That is why it feels real. Because the feeling is real. And that is awful. I know.

I still doubt my OCD because my brain keeps telling me I'm lying to myself and I'm in denial and I'm just making excuses but I'm just a bad person. I still can't sit on toilets or touch light switches and doorknobs or sink handles. It just makes my skin crawl and burn. I somewhat got over my numbers things and don't flinch when someone touches me and yet when it comes to the thoughts, even when I feel distress and discomfort my brain says it's cause I'm aroused or that I like it and I'm lying to myself. I was abused and lack confidence and it's so hard to not believe thoughts when my religious abuser drilled that thoughts and words essentially are magic.

Because when we get stupid nonsense imaginary intrusive thoughts we pay too much attention and take action on these thoughts. And because of that subsequently we get repeated such thoughts and we keep on taking actions (now we get compelled to take action) which reinforces our subconscious mind that the imaginary thing is REAL and if we continue to do it for months and years it becomes part of our brains operating system and then it becomes very difficult to erase it from subconscious mind even we now know it is wrong. So just like we format computer Hard Disk we have to get ECT for formatting our memory.

How could we know that we are with the right therapist to treat our ocd? And should we be taking a different Psychotherapy at the same time to treat our traumatic events, etc,? Thank you .

Hi Lilly, great question. I have the same questions myself as someone who has both OCD and trauma. God bless you and I hope you and I find the answers we need.

So a few weeks ago I did a exposure to see if there is a evil supernatural being. But what I said didn’t happen. But something similar did happen. One of my classmates parent passed away. But I was not talking about him. So now I’m like what if the being misunderstood me or something? And now I’m doomed? Now I’m having thoughts about making those deals. I did the calculations and there was a 2% chance of something like that happening. Is this a coincidence? Can anyone else relate to these obsessions? Pls reply.

You didn’t cause anything of the sort mate, that’s a classic OCD story, and I have also had 100s of similar stories, it’s all a lie I promise

I don't think so, because you didn't sit down and plan to eliminate one of your classmates' parent.
