I would say that It is in control now. Mostly I don't prevent my thoughts from coming and I also don't try to seek reassurance for the obsessive thoughts. Try to agree with the thoughts and accept the risk. The main focus is to embrace the uncertainty.

@@sadiamomtaz333 when I try to disengage i become more hyper aware of the thoughts and sensations, and I feel powerless against them. Being mindful feels ingenuine/forced and like I’m trying to distract myself from the issue my brain wants to focus on. Did you experience this too?

Not being a butt, but EVERYONE has intrusive thoughts. It's just people that OCD they tend to get stuck. NOTHING is wrong with YOU! Watch his video about treating the OCD like a bully. It takes awhile, but if you try to fight OCD it gets stronger. Ignore it over time and it gets weaker.

Feels so weird tho. I don’t know if I really do have OCD, but I do have anxiety. Gonna talk to my therapist about these thoughts again. Anyway thank you and thanks for helping people.

Thats what ocd does, its a bully. Its gonna keep convincing you until you become a boss. I'm no professional but all I'll say is just accept the thoughts as they are. They aren't actions, they aren't something you would ever do, they are just in your brain, we're all human. Even my mom gets intrusive thoughts, we all do. Just people with ocd including myself make it seem like a big deal. Just stand up to ocd like its a bully, don't ignore it, don't push it away. Don't overthink Like let me just say if I get a crazy thought about me flying or blowing something up with my hands? Would that really happen? Heck no, thats just our brains. We either have good/weird/disturbing thoughts. Our brain just makes up weird ideas in our heads

Your ocd videos are so amazing! I am talking to a guy with ocd and this is so helpful! I want to support him and help him manage this. I know the ocd isn’t him and he always ask why I stick with him but I know he is totally worth it! He deals with all of this stuff (in fact I’m sending him this video so he knows other people deal with this too and it is just the ocd bully!) and he just started exposure and response therapy and while it sucks it seems to be helping! Again, thank you so much for your videos! They are really helping me get a better understanding of ocd

I’ve just found your channel, only watched a few videos, but I think your ERP is helping already! I seem to always have this anxiety that never lets me fully exhale my breaths and since I found these I’ve been breathing a lot easier! This exposure is very calming.

It’s strange you pointed out the cancer and pointed to your neck though, because I’ve had this pimple on my neck all week that wouldn’t pop and I have had the thought in my head all week that it may be cancer. Thank you Nathan, you truly understand.

I literally never EVER comment on videos, (and you might never read this) but man you are saving me from the toughest time I’ve had in my short 25 years on earth 😢 my dad came out of the closet at 55yo and abondoned me and my whole family and my mind has been going crazy out of nowhere with the thought that I’m going to be and do the same things he did 😢 it has translated into my realtionship into the form of ROCD and these videos have helped me a lot to know how to control these things!!! THANKS THANKS THANKS I was literally doing the opposite things with the bully in my head 😮

Great video.. great saying. Are you using acceptable and commitment ideas etc? Good how you label ocd (ruminating, worrying, anxiety) as the bully.

You should make a video on ocd thoughts that cause stress or anxiety symptoms. For example, what if you have self harm internally and stress yourself out from a thought such as “why am I not freaking out right now, why am I calm?” Also, questioning one’s reality. those type of ocd thoughts where you break down philosophical questions and can’t answer them exactly and you become obsessive. Your tips help with this, but to focus for a second on this type of ocd would be extra helpful. Good job!
