***** 1st: (this part's more at Phoenix) Shakespeare didn't exactly focus on character development and the like, when he did it was usually in a play where the character would be kept alive. 2nd: his plays are indeed very good, and they are selective in what isnt and what is shown in high schools, personally,my high school never showed any Shakespearean plays and I find myself a pit pissed at this. 3rd: I was just talking about how I laughed at the moment in the show, why is it suddenly an argument about which writer (From a timespan of around half a millenia in which cultures, technology, etc. have changed) is better when they can't be compared? Shakespeare wrote plays for the renaissance era as a form of entertainment for people who were perfectly fine with an (unmarried) man raping a woman, so long as he married her afterwards. (Renaissance courting at it's finest) point is, no need to argue

I feel so guilty, I lived in California at the time and I signed a petition to help keep the FDA out of the way of natural supplements. I was 20, pregnant and convinced by the store owner who said the FDA would add foods we normally eat such as garlic or honey to the list of "Must Be Tested For Veracity". Sigh...........never sign a petition under duress.

In my opinion, he's not the problem. Of course he'll jump on if big money comes around the corner. The question is why is that there, and why are there NO regulations on dangerous lethal substances? There is that huge farce about a war on drugs in the US where people are freaking out and pissing themselves over cannabis being smoked by hippies, and in the same breath the same people endorse magical killer pills because Mel Gibson does. I say it's a matter of attention and education. Most people who vote for stupid shit do not know a thing about what they're doing. Because they are purposely held in that state so they're easy to manipulate. If I had any saying, I'd outlaw a commercial about how gubbamint storms your house with the national guard because they wanna steal yo vitamins, on the grounds of propagating a dangerous unconstitutional ideology that is not in line with reality. But I'd miss out on that sweet sweet lobby money. All I'm saying is that the whole deal of making money more valuable than society, of allowing bribery and corruption on the highest levels of administration (because it's just money and money does no harm) is the big culprit, not some shady-ass doctor talking about new-age magic hoodoo. Guy is just greedy. He deserves the criticism and to be called a lying piece of shit but at the same time it is okay to acknowledge him for the good he does or did Neither does the good he did undo the bad he does, nor vice versa. Good and bad is within everybody. But he should immediately lose the license to practice, the title and all rights to ever regain it. That this is not the case is rooted in the money flowing in the background.

To my dear fellow viewers. The keyword here is "supplements." Supplements are not subjected to the same testing as /drugs./ They do not undergo clinical trials and are, as a result, untested when they reach the public. This is the ONLY reason that supplements are subject to this disgusting booming business; they're unregulated. If you tried to market a /medicinal drug/ as bad as the ones mentioned in this episode your pharmaceutical company would no longer exist. So PLEASE subject supplements to the highest scrutiny you are capable of because our government is not.

My folks used to be all about Dr. Oz. They'd Tivo his show if they couldn't watch it, they'd follow his advice and honestly he does give good health advice. You know exercise, eat right, reduce fat, sodium and empty calories and so on. But my Dad especially was all into trying these supplements that he sold and he'd go out to the health food store to find them and try them for a bit. For all intents and purposes he is a bit of a health nut. In the gym every day. Doesn't eat processed foods. Shuns sugar in all it's forms and stuff like that. I told him he was wasting his money and then showed him this. Neither one watches him anymore. This one thing tainted the way they saw him.

The worst is all the people with a weight that isn't harmful for them that go into dieats for no real health reason but social ones, then ruin their budget, health and time and increase their stress... I live in France, there's far less obesity but a lot of people are into diets for nothing... thanks to the big companies that earns a lot of money by mass advertising etc...

It strikes me that so many problems would be solved if politicians weren't allowed to take bribes, er, I mean contributions, from corporate entities. I mean, how the issue there isn't painfully obvious to everyone is mind-boggling.

Ikr. Corporate lobbying shouldn't be allowed. The moment politicians opposed or supported things because of what company was paying them more, it should've been ended. It's clearly an issue, and it's only getting worse.

Dear John, Love your show, you and your team create videos that keep me laughing and cure my depression. I have subscribed and clicked the notification bell, however, every time I get a notification of a new video having been uploaded it gives me a message that 'the uploader' has not approved viewing in my country. It would be really nice if you could share your latest content with New Zealand as I'm sure many are a great fan of your on-point-humor. Thanks !

Cure your depression? Wow, and this comment was posted during COVID. I'm not sure if I no longer agree with you because I got older, because this show got darker, or because you live far away from most of the problems. Tbf, there is something I find pretty comforting about old episodes. Maybe because it brings me back to before I had severe mental health problems, maybe I can pretend that these old issues are solved now, or maybe it's because I already know what John is going to say so it isn't scary anymore.
