@@skyym3629 okay so, this might come as a shock to you, but the cartel system is something called a "market" which means that both sides are getting something out of it. The cartel produce and sell drugs to americans, yes, but that market only exists because Americans are buying their drugs. The cartel system exists because the US government banned the possession of those drugs and never provided the resources required for Americans to shake the addiction. Both sides made mistakes, Mexico definitely hasn't stamped out the seeds of corruption in their government as much as is needed (though they literally couldn't, as damn near everyone in power gets some amount of money from the cartels, and the cartels have immense influence within the population.) and the USA has consistently failed to provide the support and resources to allow addicts to recover and has increasingly criminalized and militarized their "war on drugs," forcing the cartels to become increasingly violent and ruthless in their attempts to protect their own lives. It's a shitty and complex issue, don't treat it like Mexico was just forcing its drugs in the US. Both nations have failed in multiple areas when dealing with the issue.

@@automaton1740 finally someone sane that understands the problem. If there were no demand there wouldn't be supply. You can't just kill out the drug problem. Banning it and then blaming it on other countries does not solve it. You have to bring it to light and address the issue from both sides. Literally all the government is doing now is persecuting drug offences and killing criminals. There is no support to decrease drug addiction (demand) and there is no actions against corruption that supports the cartels (supply).

I haven't laughed this hard in a while. The "orangies" at the end was the best. ROFL

Replying without any context: Science does need some creativity in realising how to solve problems. If you solve enough problems, you build up an "instinct" of what to look out for. tbh applies to any field of study.

I’m 17 now, and I remember when I was like 7 I told my dad that I was sad that there was nothing interesting happening in the time I was living in. He witnessed Germany’s reunification, his parents witnessed the moon landing, but for me there was nothing. Now I realize I was wrong. I definitely have something to tell my kids about.
