Dr. Mosley is bipolar so my best guess is that he has tried to “get away” from his depressed state of mind by simply leaving his life behind hopefully just hiding from his wife and friends on the island or sailing away in a boat instead of taking his own life:(

Symi is a beautiful little Island. The Greek people are friendly and gosh they have pulled out no stops in this search. Hope he is found well and safe

The facts are he is/was 67 years of age, had two episodes of TGA in the not too distant past, has ongoing insomnia whereby his own medical team have said they do not recommend he is active in the mornings, on top of the fact he more than likely has dietary habits that steer toward the lower calorie/carb side of the spectrum. Theres this thing called Equilibrium, and despite our best efforts our bodies become less efficient at maintaining a balance as we get older. In this case, hyperthermia, heat stroke, low blood glucose levels as well as ongoing fatigue ALL OF THIS ONTOP of being in a foreign country with the stressors of travel - everything is against this being a good outcome. It is the responsibility of the loved ones and friends he had to accompany/guide/warn him. His wife was a doctor herself for Heavens sake. May Allah make it easy for the family.

It was his wife you undermined and I felt that was unfair to say .. great wife ... and still she let him go alone. I believe she would have stopped him leaving or gone home with him if she considered him to be in any danger. As Drs they both would have been aware of the degree to which he felt unwell and if there was any risk to his health walking back alone. Obviously something unforeseen to both of them has happened to him on route back home. I can't imagine the anguish his wife is experiencing, and overthinking the "what-if" "if only" scenarios. At this point in time his safety is beginning to look a bit bleak but I still pray he is found and he's alive 🙏🏻😔

🙏🏼that he's found safe and well. Such a shock that he was reported missing.What his poor family will be going through must be just horrible. He appears to be such a lovely down to earth man and reports so eloquently on health matters.

The fact that he left his phone behind when going on a beach outing is just one small piece of the puzzle that people are reading too much into. He's on holiday after all, and maybe enjoys a break from his phone occasionally. Not all of us seniors (he's 67) are welded to their phones like the younger generations.

So seniors are quite happy to leave a £1000+ smartphone on a beach, containing all their personal data: contact list, emails, text messages, photos, videos etc in order to get alway from “things” and THEN proceed to negotiate difficult terrain in a foreign land where they can now no longer be tracked or call out in an emergency?

@@sequri He didn't leave his phone on the beach, he left it back at the place they were staying at. He was in the company of his wife and others who undoubtedly all had phones so he knew any emergency situation was pretty well covered. The 15-20 minute walk along a rugged but well-traversed local path in extreme heat was a risk he was prepared to take (without a phone on him) in order to get back and rest up (not feeling 100%) without spoiling the outing for others, their boat not due to return till hours later at 4pm.

If he was seen on a video camera at a bus stop, why isn’t there video evidence of him boarding a bus?!?!?

Maybe they don’t have cameras on them like they do here. Being such a small island they probably don’t feel they need them like they do here. Its a very small island tbf with probably next to no crime or violence I would assume.

Absolutely. I'm shocked at a lot of comments from people saying they don't know of him, so they don't care. He's a prolific writer, broadcaster, researcher and healthcare professional. So saying you've never heard of him says more about you than him... None of it flattering 🥺 Who writes that? It's all fun and games... until it happens to you or someone you know and care about.

So if people haven't heard of him, it kind of 'diminishes' their emotional investment in the fact that a British man has gone missing abroad.

Well I did wonder how on earth he was going to walk 1200 KILOMETERS on a SMALL island, over rocks & cliffs and meet his family at the bus stop!! Why are we listeners doing the editing?! And this is SERIOUS.

From memory the bus from Pedi goes up to the top of the old town where you can walk down a very steep paved old street the Kale Strada (?) into the main town. Some old abandoned houses down that street...

Very odd .why .no phone? ..goes for a walk in 40deg C weather with a sun brolly but no phone ? across,a rocky 12km coast path ..leaves St Nikolas beach at 130pm is seen in Pedi at 152pm ..so he walked 12km (7.5miles) in 22mins?? Cctv is off or the time his wife said he left is incorrect ..or hes the fastest walker in the World

Still hoping for a good outcome - thoughts are with the family. Thank you to the local residents for all their efforts - they would know the area and any dangers best. Been to these lovely Islands many times, Greek people very family orientated and kind ♥ 🇬🇷

So a doctor hasn’t been seen for a few days, I have to wait weeks to see mine.

Not feeling well , could be not feeling mentally well.

Greece are spending tremendous resources doing this. Not like some countries that act like they don’t like tourists. They are a great country and people and we can support their economy buying their goods and visiting their many many tourist spots. They are also very smart. If something had occurred that is criminal in nature they will find it.

So have they ascertained whether he actually got on the bus or not? Did he ever leave Pedi or did he disappear before getting on the bus? No-one has bothered to ask whether or not they spoke to the driver on the bus route!

Greek authorities have stated that "No stone will be left un-turned in the search"....But I'd like to suggest that the search would be much more effective if they simply assumed that it was highly unlikely that he is under any of the many stones on the island.
