My pain management doctor suggested that I check out Dr. Mark Hyman's book. My doctor's approach to managing pain is to have a proper diet, exercise, and no pain pills. I have to say after two months I am improving everyday, and when my Dr. challenged me last month to read his book I did not realize how poor my diet was. It has been a huge awakening.

Kandra Mandac ..have u heard of amino acid therapy? aka precursor therapy? DPA is an amino acid that when taken on an empty stomach will help conserve the body's endorphins, which are stronger than morphine (on a molecule:molecule basis). julia roberts i think is the name of the doctor that has alot of info on it. look into it..good luck!

Okay for people that can't understand scientific terms: You have 2 tanks, glycogen and fat When you eat carbs and sugar, your body fills it the glycogen tank and is used for energy. Then more sugar you eat, the higher the tank keeps filling. Not eating sugar makes the glycogen tank lower and the body needs energy so it goes to the fat tank. Since the body has no sugar in the blood to feed off, it takes from the fat tank, and sheds pounds. Eating fat makes the fat tank fill up faster and makes the glycogen tank lower so you can speed up the weight loss process.

Eating fat does not make your adipose tissue fill up faster, or people would not lose weight on a high fat diet. Eating a high carb diet does make your adipose tissue fill up, because of insulin. This is the whole point of the LCHF diet.

Ketosis may not be the only healthful diet/lifestyle but it works amazingly well for me. Dr. Hyman is great -- it's good to see so many competent and knowledgeable speakers promoting healthy fats, organic produce, removal of processed foods, etc. This is particularly true for saturated fats since they have demonized for so many years based on a lack of understanding of biochemistry and particularly hormones.

over 30 years of eating experience tough me that, on average meat, seafood, and process carb stay inside of my digest system longer than fruit, vegetable and whole food starch. in order to stay healthy, what goes in must come out. If it doesn't come on through the other end, it will break out through acne, mucus, rush, aches, pains and etc. Anything that my body can't get rid of will be stored somewhere, somehow. Eventually, human body will reach its limit, and that is when the mutation started. just like process starch, meat is another form of feeds that process by animals and it will produced same among of harm, if my body doesn't get rid of in time.

When the Guest said, eat more fat, it's hard for the regular person to know specifically that "fat" is NOT, NOT, NOT FAKE FATS..Such as canned white shortening, margarine, and lots (not all )poly unsaturated vegetable oils. Please let people to know what fats you are referring to. Am sure you don't mean to eat more fried foods... fried in artery clogging cheap fake fat vegetable oil fats. Since the fake fats were introduced, and meat and eggs were demonized, the rate of heart disease, blood pressure problems, diabetes, and many more diseases. When you say fat, you mean fats which are straight from nature, such as avocados, nuts, eggs, meat fat, fish skins, chicken skins. Natural fats heal, whereas fake fats are linked to heart disease, strokes, blood pressure problems and much more.

He is INCORRECT! The part about cholesterol is correct however. Which is mind blowing in and of itself. The 2015-2020 DGA recommendation is to limit saturated fat intake to less than 10% of total calories. This advice mirrors that given in 2010. The 2015-2020 DGA rationale for continuing this advice on saturated fats has to do with reducing risk for cardiovascular disease. The 2015 DGAC hinted at a possible removal of a long-standing limit on total dietary fat intake. The 2015-2020 DGA uses the ADMR established by the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine (formerly the Institute of Medicine) that adults 19 years and older consume 20-35% of their calories from total fats.

I’m trying to do a Keto diet and I’m trying my best to do it as plant based as I can, but the volume of what you can eat seems so small. 25grams of carbs and 130grams of fat is a very small amount of food. Not so much the fat but the carbs is crazy. Can’t I bump it up to 50-60 and still be in ketosis? 25 grams seems extreme and like torture. The carbs are from veggies after all. No complex carbs. I’ve even cut out all refined sugars and artificial sweeteners from January 1st.

The thing that is scary though, is because our grandparents that didn't eat the boxed food, and healthy food , died younger than this kind of diet, than people do today.. So there may be something to this. I have been on keto and I am 64 years old, and lost weight pretty fast but missed my regular food, and gained very fast. No longer have hypothyroidism because of this. .

It's very interesting to witness firsthand how much control the food industry has on regulations and guidelines. I got into nutrition because I was sick of being confused about what I was supposed to eat. I would watch my bodybuilder friends avoid wheat and dairy yet my college professors would still recommend it. Finally, one class, my professor actually said to look at the studies created by the food industry. The scientists who conducted the studies usually were being paid by the food companies. Later on, when I became a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, I realized, the majority of jobs for dietitians were employed by the food companies as well. All of our trade shows... the booths were paid for by companies trying to get dietitians to recommend their products to patients and sadly, I see a lot of dietitians supplement their income by recommending those products regardless if they truly are healthy.

Very informative! Thanks for sharing. Question: What is being dumped into the atmosphere via chemtrails? These chemicals can come into contact with the produce grown on clean, organic farms. Shouldn't these be banned? What is their purpose? What exactly is being used and why? I see these white streaks being emitted from planes or jets in the sky very frequently.

In my opinion food stamps should not be allowed to be traded for any luxury food including takeout, no cigarettes, no chocolate, no booze etc. only fresh meat and vegetables flour bread cold cuts some frozen foods. That way the poor would be guided to eat well while being funded by the state reducing the health burden also. If they're on their own money its all well and good, but if it's tax payer funded. This would both reduce costs and encourage people to work. I'm not saying that a lot of people on food stamps choose that life, but there some that find it convenient.

I grew up in Africa and we would never afford to eat big size meat, and we eat meat only like 3 or 4 times/week, animal over there are grassfed, so the production is quite low so expensive. I moved to USA , and I was like, Gosh, my life has changed, I can now eat meat as much as I want, my life is better now, but this was wrong because the best diet I ever had was back then in Cameroon. Sometimes, being poor, just help to avoid some unnecessary health issues. I am cautious now and I decided to made a change in my diet!

How funny, I just wrote the same type of comment on one of Dr Bergs video. I’m 63, went Keto in September and have lost 25 lbs and am now at the weight I was in my 20’s. It was a video on Keto vs fasting. Since I can’t afford to lose more weight, fasting and it’s benefits will be less often. Low carb high fat is now a way of life for me.
