While we don’t often want to think about the inevitability of growing older, the aging process will eventually affect every one of us. It is only natural; as time passes, our bodies change and respond to our environments - sometimes in good ways, but other times in ways that negatively affect our appearance or confidence. Facial signs of aging are one of the most common aesthetic concerns that arise as women and men alike move through new stages in their life. Wrinkles, lines and sagging skin across the face, chin and neck can be frustrating and upsetting. You may see your reflection and think that you look older than you feel. You may wonder if you will ever feel good about your appearance again. You are not alone - even though facial aging is natural and cannot be avoided, many people seek ways to slow, reduce or turn back the aging process.
Facelift surgery offers people with these concerns a chance to age beautifully. Facelift surgery cannot make you look 20 years old again - and it is not supposed to - but it can help eliminate the most irritating signs of aging such as sagging skin, jowls around the jawline and deep facial folds. A facelift aims to create a naturally sophisticated look that plays up your best features and lends health and vitality to your appearance.

    I just had a facelift and suffered a brutal hematoma the second day after the procedure. My left cheek and neck were filled like a water balloon with blood. I couldn’t feel my lips on the left and there was a small amount of blood draining out of my eye. My doctor told me to come in to the office at about 11 that night and he worked on me until 3am. No anesthesia - just the pain pill I had taken earlier. It was more painful and traumatic than childbirth-probably because of fear of the unknown. He compressed and pushed and expressed blood out of my cheek and neck and I had to lay on my hands so I wouldn’t reflexively react to the pain. I had no idea what he was doing - it felt like he was stuffing gauze into the wound to stop the bleeding, then just applying heavy pressure to stop the bleeding. I have no idea what he was actually doing- it just hurt and he had the most calming soothing voice. I was doing Lamaze breathing to disconnect from the procedure. I drifted off into a fantasy where I was a victim at 9/11 and he was a fireman rescuing me from the rubble. It’s crazy what your mind will do to disconnect from trauma. The next day he put a drain in and put me on Ciproflaxin as I started to have hot red swelling with seeping yell fluid come out through my skin. I was so bruised from my face and neck clear down to my left breast which turned purple as well. I’m about 3 weeks out now. Doctor had me come in about every other day to check in my healing, and drain the seroma that developed with a needle. The doctor and his staff are taking amazing care of me-and THIS is why you never want to go to the discount doctor! I’m still healing -hoping I am not developing fibrosis as I’m starting to see lumps and deep lines where the hematoma was. Doctor says it was likely from elevated blood pressure. I forgot to take my BP pills the second day as I was sleeping with pain meds. Regardless of the problems, my result is amazing. If I end up with some lumps - well I guess that’s the risk we take with cosmetic surgery. I’m doing light compression with massage, avoiding salt, and Applying ice gel packs. Hot water is bad. So is hyalauronic acid- just adds more fluid to my seroma. I still have pain. But, I’d do it again in a heartbeat.,I’m 58, but now I look better than when I was 35. Thanks for your video on this topic!!

    Hi!! I'm so sorry you had to go through that!! I just had a facelift 10 days ago and got a bleeding as well. Ugh... I did so much research to find the right doctor. He operated two people I know and they went without any complications and super happy. The evening after the surgery, which was very successful, I had nausea and threw up twice... Apparently that elevated my blood pressure and a blood vessel broke. Next morning my eye was completely swollen!! Black and blue. I could hardly see it!! :(( The doctor had to open the sutures (ouch), drain and then my whole right side was COMPLETELY BRUISED. The "good" side is perfect! Not a single bruise!! I have been in touch with my doctor and he's reassuring to me that it's going in the right direction, but I'll see him in a couple of days anyway. After a facelift, the cheeks are swollen (well, everything!!). But the cheek where I had the bleeding is still swollen, compared to the left side, where I had no issues. There is no pain and the bruises in the front diminished. You mention your results are amazing. That means that the swelling eventually went away? How long did it take? Thanks!!!

    Bleeding and Hämatoms are quite normal. Blood pressure diet and stress are the main causes, when there are incidences, as you have described! Applying pressure to the area of swelling or bleeding is to stop the bleeding or slow it down not sure if you had ats (antithrombosis stockings) on! which should be worn for at least a week or more. A lymph drainage massage for face area helps too (Hämatomas)lymph node is under the ear back of the neck and the collar bone area. If you had heparin (blood thinning injection?!?) after your surgery (Antithrombosis) normal praxis after any type of surgery!!! These factors alone -relevant. I find this Dr very informative and competent. I wish a speedy recovery and good health

    Love this video, Thank so much for taking the time to make it. The attention to detail is fantastic, wish I had seen this before my surgery. It would have saved soo much anxt. One thing though, how long after a neck lift to you wear the chin cling and how tight should it be. Further, should the top of head strap be directly or vertically above the chin at top of head or slightly to the back top of head?

I really apriciate the time you take about the compression in the beginning, as well as cleaning the sutures in the office at the visits! you are clear about neck turning, and the timing of all of the above. may I ask you if you use the white absorbable sutures in eye blephroplasty? thank you for your answer andyour video!

    I just had a full face lift 4 procedures and full face C02 laser. I am on day 18 and my Dr did none of that. I have suffered thru it. Not bad just like your video stated pressure, tight and now Itching alot. I was not given a strap or cooling wrap should I be concerned? My neck is so tight. I am now doing exercises to stretch it. Why do my eyes look funky from the soof? When will they return to normal?

  • @FaceliftExpert

    @FaceliftExpert

    3 жыл бұрын

    Yes, you may take paracetamol if you have pain. I recommend 30x Arnica montana and Bromelain from VitaMedica. There are directions on the bottle. I would follow what is recommended by the specific vendor as the dosage is dependent on how much milligrams they have per tablet or capsule. I also would not buy them together but purchase them separately and take them at different times if at all possible.

    Hi can you have a lower facelift if your on warfrain thank you 😊

  • @FaceliftExpert

    @FaceliftExpert

    3 жыл бұрын

    Hi Anna, one of the risks of facelift surgery is developing a hematoma from excess bleeding under the skin flap. Warfarin prevents your body from clotting properly and hence increases the risk of developing a hematoma. You would have to be off warfarin for this procedure and be switched to different medication during the time around your procedure for the risk to be reduced. I often work with your primary care doctor of hematologist to transition to a different medication to allow the surgery to be completed safely.
