Dr. Gupta 'nervous' before getting the results of his Alzheimer's test
Facing concerns about his own family history of Alzheimer’s, CNN chief medical correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta visits preventive neurologist Dr. Richard Isaacson to have his own risk for dementia assessed in the CNN documentary “The Last Alzheimer’s Patient.” At the Institute for Neurodegenerative Diseases of Florida, Dr. Isaacson is leading a novel clinical trial focused on tracking and treating the aging brain through tools like comprehensive cognition tests and new, experimental blood biomarker measurements. Watch the full documentary on CNN’s “The Whole Story” premiering on May 19th at 8p et/pt and streaming on MAX on June 18

Each human, that wants to prolong life, has an unlimited need for healthcare. Capitalism limits your extent of health care by your wealth. Socialism limits your health care by limiting access, due to government financial resources.
Unfortunately the average American can't afford the test.

Then what! You do tests and find out you have risk for Alzheimer’s What are you going to do? There is no cure why do you want to know a risk if that’s the case??
I don't want to get tested for anything.... if you don't follow their recommendations, you are non-compliant and can be dropped from insurance. I will continue to take the best care I can of myself.... myself.
Dr. Gupta don't be misled by the narrating individuals diagnosis ! The doctors and lab personnel just does not want to loose their job ! Based on your maids prognosis ; you are either shitting your pants when you fart or just forgetting to wipe your ass !
And, I’m guessing, EXPENSIVE!
Yes, it’s a “sick care“ system, not a “Healthcare“ system. Unfortunately, for some of us who are sick, we still can’t even get help. It’s wonderful that some people can afford to have all this testing done to prevent disease. But I have been limping on a hip with bursitis for over two years, activities of daily living are difficult, some are impossible. And I can’t get a shot for my hip so that I can go back to being productive. Ever since the bursitis started in April 2022, my health is declined because my activity level has diminished. That sucks. I’m sure that’s how all die, ignored by “sick care” system. And the people who are important will be able to live longer, healthier lives.
First, share your current heart drugs that you take & for how long. Allergy meds. How many head injuries in your life, did you ever work in the chemical industry? Were you ever a firefighter?
Dr. Gupta: I disagree regarding the benefit of a rucksack or weighted vest. I think it exacerbates the spinal compression that inevitably affects everyone with age, leading to a bent back or dowagers hump, chronic hip and lower back pain, and sciatica. I say this from my own experience. For many years I carried a backpack around the campus where I studied and worked, and while on a bicycle which I rode to work on and everywhere else. I am now 71, and battle these conditions every day. Perhaps there is a short-term advantage to using a weight above the hips, but the long-term cost is not worth it.
This is why we need socialized medicine. The Govt. could buy the company for $1 billion, give us all this test at birth and offer preventative medicine to all of us. Yes, I have the money but I am not average and the poor need this more than the rich.
I really could care less. He’s rich and famous so he can get what he wants, not even necessarily what he needs, but what he wants. Good for him. I have to spend all my energy worrying about how I’m going to get my next meal; I’m disabled in the healthcare system has failed me.
