Born out of necessity and rooted in the inseparability of mind and body, Dr. Maté highlights the importance of processing unresolved pain within ourselves as the foundation of helping others free themselves from the past, release trauma, and connect to a healing power within. 19:51 “Fierce compassion means that you’re not afraid of the pain that comes up….” 25:09 “There’s a reason for everything…” Being able to compassionately reconnect with my childhood pain has helped me immensely to understand myself and to love my inner child, one who always felt abandoned and put down. I am finally letting go…. Thanks, Dr Maté!

16:30 “Compassion simply means the willingness to accept someone for exactly as they are.” And I would add that this includes compassion for ourselves and what we have been living. Such warmth and understanding in a world that sometimes seems so devoid of these.
