I don't have ulcers on my feet. I struggle so much walking. I have chronic vascular ulcers on my lower legs and have so much trouble walking. I wish I could walk like this lady. I am so very hopeful and send prayers that this lady can gain parts of her life back. Thank you TLC for bringing light to this and many other debilitating illnesses out there. 😊

I have a chronic pain problem and when I get numbing injections every couple months I'm completely exhausted afterwards, to the point that I have to get someone to drive me home. When you're in extreme pain all the time you don't register the psychical toll that level of strain puts on your body.

Cleveland Clinic Cleveland Ohio. Have several locations , the chamber is quite different, you have to have a helmet type thing over your head, not a mask like she had on so the entire chamber is oxygenated. Have to wear only 100% Cotten clothes, no electronics because at 100% oxygen the fire risk is very high … At least 8weeks everyday day for a little over 2 hrs. Very intent treatment but painless.

Ask your doctor if your hospital or one in your network has a wound clinic. Most of them now have hyperbaric oxygen chambers if they're doing wound care. My dad had a 4"x5" ulcer on his leg from varicose veins complicated by lymphedema and he's also diabetic. He was being "treated" by the VA, who just kept giving him different options, creams, mixtures of creams, and nothing else. I finally got him to go to a primary care, who referred him to the wound clinic. They were phenomenal! Not everyone needs hyperbaric oxygen right off the bat. They tried something called an Unna Boot on my dad, and it worked well. They applied a steroid cream, then wound dressing called Promagran Prisma Ag, which contains regenerated cellulose, collagen and silver. It turns into a gel that helps start wound granulation, while the silver. Then they laid something called Xeroform over that, which is a petroleum jelly soaked dressing, over that, then wrapped it in the Unna Boot, which is a calamine and zinc soaked bandage wrap. They topped that with a Coban wrap, which is that self adherent stuff. He had to have that changed weekly for a while, but we were seeing massive improvements every single week. They also ordered him lymphedema pumps once vein studies showed he didn't have any veinous reflux. Had he not responded so well, or so fast, to treatment, they would have done hyperbaric treatments. This was a hospital that's in a town of about 11k, so you may not necessarily have to travel to someplace as large as Cleveland Clinic, which will undoubtedly be more expensive than an in-network hospital. If you do find somewhere close, especially if you're offered a couple, make sure you check their patient reviews for your final decision. Good luck! 💜

Many years ago my step mums mum had these and nothing worked at all. She was at the end of her tether and with the GP they allowed me to use Helichrysum Italicum and Cistus rock not directly on the skin but within the dressings. Within months they had all healed and my knowledge as a clinical aromatherapist really helped her to heal when nothing was helping after 4 years of the NHS helping. I believe it pushed her healing in to repairing and then the western medicine along with the aromatherapy allowed her to heal and she is in her 90’s.

I wonder if they ever did an angiogram on Katie... My mum had ra and a leg ulcer like Katie's and it was caused by her ra narrowing/the collapsing her arteries. My mum never had the oxygen therapy though. In the end my mum had her leg amputated. And her ra killed her.

I have a friend living in the UK, who is disabled, who I wish could see a sympathetic and helpful doctor, like Dr. Emma! Her own doctors and dentists tell her things like, "Pain is not a reason for treatment," "You just have to learn to live with the pain," "It's your anxiety, your pain is all in your head," and "Have you just tried being mindful?" Disgusting, the (lack of) treatment that some genuinely sick people get, at the hands of so-called medical professionals.

I was told by a personal trainer to attach a sit-up device to the bottom of my bedroom door, do a minimum of 20 sit-ups per day using the device, make sure I'm using my feet to pull my body up,. This will result in my feet and ankles getting more circulation. This will prevent edema and other feet and leg problems. You have to get blood circulated to the feet regularly.

Not to be cruel but do you mean Henry the eight? When you write numerals you put the largest number first (V = 5) then to add to that you put smaller numbers after (I = 1) if you write the smaller numbers prior to the large number, you subtract. So you essentially wrote Henry the second. But since I do not know the British Royal history that well King Henry II might have had a skin condition. But hen you would write his number with II as you would write the fewest numbers possible.

It's not, it's an autoimmune disorder. Type 1 diabetes may run *concurrent* since it's also an autoimmune disorder but it's more likely to show with Rheumatoid Arthritis or Crohn's disease. Either way, you can be as healthy as you want and autoimmune disorders will still kick your ass. You can't really control if you develop them or not and anyone that says you can is victim blaming or trying to sell you something.
