Dr. David Unwin is GP based in Southport in the United Kingdom. After 25 years of attempting to treat diabetes by conventional methods, Dr. Unwin was introduced to low carb nutrition through one of his patients and the website www.diabetes.co.uk
From this revelation, Dr. Unwin now ignores official advice and treats his patients with a low-carbohydrate diet. Since adopting the approach, his practice now spends £50,000 less each year on drugs for diabetes than is average for his area.
Dr. Unwin is the RCGP National Champion for Collaborative Care and Support Planning in Obesity & Diabetes, as well as a Clinical Expert in diabetes. In 2015 he won the North West NHS ‘Innovator of the Year Award’ and in 2016 he won the National NHS 'Innovator of the Year Award' for his work in treating diabetes with a low carbohydrate approach.

    Beautifully said, and though some might know it, they would rather reap the benefits of big pharmaceutical incentives. Most MDs can't survive without pushing the SAD sad American diet. Food is medicine and medicine is food, Hypocrites.

    Bravo, I am a 74 year old man that sampled low carb about 25 years ago to treat migraines, it absolutely worked but I fell off low carb. Became Refatted with migraines became Obese and a type 2 diabetes diagnosis flipped a switch in my head. Three months latter I was I that dr. Office again and the Dr said you were type 2 with obesity, high triglycerides,high Bp, hi glucose, now your fine she then asked “what did you do?” I said the simple answer is “I stopped feeding my sugar Sugar,sugar!” She didn’t talk to me anymore. I’m 70 lighter and feel great, today I was walking and running and I don’t even breathe hard. Your talk was great.

    @don berry i can tell a big difference in feeling good off sugar, but seem to fall off the wagon every so often and binge on certain things that make me feel like crap. i drink ice tea. what do you sweeten with that won't cause craving for more? i am not diabetic, but bad as i feel on a binge of sugar and carbs, i think i am close. want to stop this cycle.

    Don: I am 66 years old and had a similar experience with my doctor, I was taking metformin for type two diabetes and my blood sugar was still out of control, I looked on the internet and found out about keto diet and intermittent fasting and decided to try it out, I quit taking metformin and started going to the gym, keto diet, and intermittent fasting instead. Then at my next doctors appointment I told him what I was doing and he told me I had to take metformin and there was no way I could reverse my condition without taking the metformin. My A1C at the time was 7.3, I told him we were going to find out because I wasn't going to take metformin I was going to fix what was really wrong with me....eating to much sugar and carbs. I was proven right and he was show to be the moron I suspected he was.....40 days later A1C was 5.6 Blood pressure has dropped from stage two to better than perfect and I have been going to gym religiously and feel better than I have in the last 25 years. I also have lost 36 lbs.

    @@sandy-rr1by I use Xylitol, sometimes called Xylit or birch sugar. It's a sugar alcohol that is poorly absorbed in the gut but metabolized by gut bacteria into short chain fatty acids which are supposed to be good. It's like a solutable diatary fiber in my understanding. The downside is that it is driving bacterial life in the gut what leads to gas. However, if you start low (like a teaspoon per day) than the bacteria can adopt and consume it in the small intestines, imho the trouble comes it it gets to the large intestines or the colon. It's approx. 20 times as expensive as sugar which helps to reduce the consumption. I also find that natural vanilla and even vaniline enhances the felt sweetness so that you can reduce the sugar (or Xylit) while having the same tastiness...

    @@robertcarey3383 I would like to take low dose of Metformin anyhow, it has show live-prolonging properties and is taken by quite a few non-diabetics for longevity. To my humble understanding it activates the mTOR pathway and mimics fasting. I currently think how I can get it without being diabetic....

    Thanks Dr. Unwin, I'm actually a patient at your practice...1 I lost around 30 lb by IF, and a lower carb diet a couple of years ago, lockdown saw me working from home and gaining back 14lb....but I'm back on the fasting and this has inspired me to cut down on my fave spuds and rice once more....Thank you for your efforts!

    Ditto here... Covid lockdowns brought back all my lost weight. Now I'm just a couple pounds away from my pre-covid weight and about 30 more will get me to a "healthy" BMI. IF and low carb are the keys.

    Thank you so much for this. I find I am mostly leading my doctor, rather than the other way around. It is uphill all the way, as if his training and experience is counter to my results, but my results speak for themselves. Keto since February 2020, lost 40 lbs., inflammation very much under control, lower anxiety, better sleep. Never going back! Pleases keep shouting about this!

    Thank you. In october 2020 I was diagnosed with type2 diabetes and put on medication Metformin and in december Galvumet, which made me feel quite ill and upset my vision. I told my doctor of my problem and was told it would all be fine with a bit more time. My HBa1c was 71, still feeling ill, I stopped taking the meds and changed my diet, leafy greens and protein. Over the next two months I lost 12kg and my HBa1c was 35, since then the next two tests have both been 37. My health appears so much better, Im able to exercise and at 72kg feel better than I did 20yrs ago. Why didn't my doctors help me 20yrs ago? This information should be common knowledge of every doctor. Many thanks, and please keep up your amazing work.

    I was diagnosed as diabetic about 10 years ago…was told there was nothing you could do about it. I also researched and found that a low carb diet whoul bring your a1c down so I went low carb when it was not popular. Like others I lost 120 lbs and my blood sugar became normal even before I had lost all the weight. When I was diagnosed with diabetes they sent me to a class where the teacher weighed more than I did and could hardly walk…I said no thanks to their carb heavy diet and stuck to mine. It’s crazy that people have had to educate doctors!

    This is so true. I had type two after going on low carb reversed my condition and reduced my medication from 5 to one; this happened in only three months. So many health improvements, I'll never go back to a high carb or sugar diet. Best medical advice you can introduce.

    Dr. Unwin, I just love the way you speak. I have been low carbing for about the last 20 years so my liver results are usually pretty good, but recently I ate two bags of Halloween candy (rare slip up) and had blood tests the next day. My doctor was quite concerned that my ALT and AST came back 5 xs higher than I had ever had them before. In the 180 and 110 range (USA). She sent me for an ultrasound of the liver.. fortunately all was well and I am back to normal now, but it shows you how sugar can do damage -- serious damage -- and you wouldn't even know.

    I am a 75 year old who has had typeII diabetes since I was in my mid 20s. I have been in letosis for almost three years. I have ended almost all of my diabetic meds and currently my A1C is 6.1. What a shame I didn't know about the benefits of low carb diets many years earlier. That might have saved me from needing bypass surgery 8 years ago. Unwin is fantastic.

    I have been doing Keto, IF, ACV for over 3 years and dropped 80lbs, reversed my fatty liver, all my health problems went away including anxiety, depression and panic attacks and my blood pressure dropped to 127/81, I’m 60 and don’t remember having a normal blood pressure.

    Brilliant mate , Im amazed how many dr's don't know this stuff , I'm a test case for my dr now .She's impressed that my liver function changed so rapidly after cutting carbs and consuming more beneficial fats typically cook my eggs with coconut oil and consume olive oil straight of the spoon every morning 15ml . I've lost 8kg in 3 months , blood test are all back to normal.

    Most oils are oxidized and inflamatory for the body. See Dr. Paul Mason's findings on vegitable and seed oils. Butter, lard, and tallow, are the good, safe and very necessary fats for maintaining a healthy body.

    Thanks. Have been suffering from severe sleep apnea at least for 25 years. Last year lost 17 kilo from january to may , starting at 96. Starving metode, calorie count low fat diett. Still suffering from sleep apnea (and hungy all the time) Then went Keto and dropped down to 71 kg. Sleep apnea disappeared!. My specialist got a long face never to believe this could happen. Beside this, all blood samples perfect. Never hungry , have stayed stable at 71 kg and no apnea since last summer. 1,73m tall, age 61. Feel grate (20 years younger)

    What a wonderful presentation. I was diagnosed with Abnea at 42 years old. I had a cpap machine for 20 years. I cured my abnea (after 20 years) by losing some weight, but also daily juicing with 1 lemon, 1 apple, 2 carrots and a piece of ginger. However, I was not diagnosed with diabetes until 2011. I reversed my diabetes in 2018 by becoming vegetarian and practicing intermittent fasting 8/16 and occasional 24 hour fasts. Dr Jason FUNG said, " think of your stomach as a sugar bowl. Every time you eat you fill it with sugar. If you keep eating the bowl overflows". Then my penny dropped. Love peace & health to all of you. Many thanks Dr Unwin for saving lives.

    You've got to remember though, the studies on intermittent fasting were done on men. Women's bodies are different and cannot withstand the stress of going without food, especially carbs... important hormones are knocked out of balance, estrogen levels drop resulting in irregular and lost menstrual cycles, and thyroid hormones decrease resulting in slowed metabolism and hypothyroidism. It's clear that fasting and low carb diets work amazingly for men, but not so well for women long term.

    Dr. Pelz here on KZread has a whole channel about how women can do fasting safely and effectively. Both men and women evolved in the same paleolithic environment, with the same foods and occasional lack of food. It doesn't make any sense that men would evolve to thrive in those circumstances while women would evolve to wither away and suffer. Evolution works the same way on everyone - species are whittled down to perfectly match their environment. If some people have a bad reaction to fasting, it is due to epigenetic factors, i.e. the damage they have done to their body through living at variance with its natural requirements.

    Told my doctor I had cut out all processed foods and refined carbs, and was doing keto/ LCHF. She looked at me like I had told her I was eating my own sh+t. My HBA1C was 6.5, was told nothing to worry about.

    I elicit the same reaction when I tell people I dont eat grains. They think I'm nuts. When the majority are deluded, the enlightened are labelled as crazy. Pretty sure I've had my Asian card revoked for quitting rice too.

    Years ago I had high BP and i was overweight. My GP did a blood test and after looking at my liver numbers he asked me "are you a heavy drinker?" and i'm (was) not. After that there was no advice how to improve my liver health just "we should continue with observation". That was not helpful.

    Too many doctors just do the minimum to get their credentials and I suspect couldn't care less about health, biology, or getting the latest info. Try to get a better doctor and keep informing yourself. My daughter says when I try to advise her "You're not a doctor", but I tell her yes but I can read and inform myself from reputable sources, the same as doctors SHOULD be doing.

    Here's the real question... Why does my doc base his conclusion that I have "excellent glucose metabolism" on a combination of my fasting blood glucose, and my hba1c? Those two numbers are satisfactory, true... But I had to find out by myself that my blood sugar regularly spiked to over 200... Regularly as in at every meal.... So, by the time my doc would have figured out that I had a glucose metabolism issue, I probably would have been full blown diabetic... Or dead from a heart attack, since I had a calcium score of 500.. Our medical establishment is like a fire department that warns you that your house is on fire when it's already burned down.

    I agree, my GP (specialized on internal medicin) looked to my blood panel (complete: lipids, liver, sugar, kidneys...), said that it is fine, just here and there marginally higher and described a Statin for slightly increased LDL-C. To my question about all other numbers he said that is was fine. I asked for a print-out (to the annoyance of the front desk nurse who want to charge me 20 cts for the paper - LOL, while the statin I was prescribed on is about 1000 USD/year and thats supposed for the rest of my life). Back to the point: my Hdl-c was 30 and my TRIG was over 300 mg/dl. A clear sign of insulin resistance and maybe even pre-diabetes. Hypoglycemic dislipemia and I had to diagnose it myself while my GP didn't recognize it (just because the fasting glucose was fine, HbA1c was not measured). I stopped the Statin after 8 weeks, went on LCHF - for 7 months now - and lost 10 kg (20 pounds). To monitor my blood levels I bought a glucose/ketone/uric acid tester (7 USD) and a lipid panel tester (120 USD) in order to test in a higher frequency. HDL is now 50 mg/dl and rising while TRIG is 80 and falling. Funnily LDL-C dropped also 10%. In the Framingham Offspring Risk Calculator my CVD odds ratio fell from 1.6 ("very high risk") to 0.7 ("low risk") - and that on lifestyle and food only. AND: I don't think Doctors are evil money-making monsters. I think they are badly trained in the fields of nutrition and physiological chemistry. Unfortunately, while the science has created a lot of new information on metabolic disorder, the medical practice is still locked in the "fat is bad - eat 5 x a day a lot of carbs" doctrine of the 70ies.

    Because they should be testing fasting insulin as well. T2D is insulin resistance, not lack of insulin. The liver is the screaming, cause it is insulin resistant Doctors are also treating symptoms, not the whole individual. Well, allopathic doctors. I am considering seeing a functional doctor. I am already reversing my diabetes, by following the advise of people like Jason Fung.

    The liver is also regarded as being the organ that is associated with anger or grumpiness. It would be interesting to correlate the Alt, GGT and Triglyceride levels to grumpiness in people.

    Interesting. Anecdotally I worked with two men who had tight 'pregnant' looking midsections, and they were fonts of rage and sarcasm. No one would dream of hiring guys like that for Santas. Grumpiness was their "good" days.

    I just commented but I want to add more. I was suffering, health wise. I continually gained weight even when I wasn't eating that much. I couldn't figure it out. I thought that I had auto immune disease because I had terrible skin reactions that lasted for weeks. Flare-ups. Even had to go to emergency rooms late at night for cortisone shots, antibiotics and a slew of other medications so many times I have lost count. I didn't know what to do. So I wanted to see if I could cure it with changing my diet. Process of subtraction/addition/subtraction of foods till I found that the carbs and dairy were causing the flare ups. I haven't had an incident since I began keto. So it all ties in and makes sense. I wish I had discovered keto way, way before. I believe I could have avoided all those sicknesses and excess antibiotics/medication/pain killers. Oh well. Better late than never right? 🙂

    Thank you Dr Unwin, I was able to learn more from you about non alcohol LD and IR to get back on a healthier low carbohydrate diet pathway. Had to source how to reduce NAFLD, lower raised triglycerides on own as I was given diagnosis with little information provided by GP other than loose weight.

    21:50 I'm 195lbs and 5'11 I have suffered with sleep apnea for decades. I wouldve never guessed that insulin and visceral fat had anything to do with it. I also wonder if that's why I'm so tongue-tied sometimes and have difficulty saying words properly.

    Thank you for the informative video…very informative for my situation. Here in Canada we look at ALT and AlK phosphase as part of the standard lipid profile. I believe we can request GGT as an add on test. Will do so! I’ve had NAFLD now for over a decade (now age 47) and quite possibly since my childhood years. My diet consisted of too many carbs, sugars my whole life. 6’ tall, was 220lbsat max and now down to 180 after reducing sugar to literally nothing and carbs down to minimal. I’m still suspecting excess insulin production as the root cause of my issues and am extremely sensitive to any carbs. Ie. sleep disruption I wish you were located locally but thank you for posting this. I’ll ensure I follow a more strict no carb lifestyle :)

    My mom is not statistically significant or peer reviewed but her experience has had real significance among her circle of friends and family. 22 months ago, my 80 year old mother finally had a follow up appointment with her physician which was delayed for months because her doctor has been in charge of treating Covid patients in the hospital and in nursing homes and was not able to meet with her. She had a full blood panel taken for this visit and her doctor was astounded at the progress she had made during the last year. She is now no longer diabetic and she was instructed to stop taking insulin after having been on it for 12 years. Her doctor also praised her kidney function which has never looked better. Also, she couldn't believe that her total cholesterol was only 139, with LDL of 67, HDL of 60, and triglycerides of 82 which is a big improvement for her. According to the Framingham Heart Study, these numbers mean that she is virtually "heart attack proof" as many plant based doctors have noted. Her physician mentioned that she is reconsidering the diet for her family based on this experience. She also asked my mom to share her experience with our community after the pandemic. All of these results are exactly what I had hoped would occur. Here is the menu that I had developed for her to try to mimic what she was used to eating -> "GSP Mother's Menu" - While this menu is not a pure whole foods plant based diet, it appears to be health promoting enough to work for her. My understanding is that low carb diets are a workaround that do not address the root cause of diabetes which is excess intramyocellular lipids and the resulting insulin resistance (excess saturated fats and refined sugar/flour are the most common cause of this metabolic system failure).     Very interesting from a UK doctor, as I am English. I was amazed that Dr Unwin has been recognised by the NHS for his work, and yet the diet advice on how to lose weight on the NHS website is still the food pyramid you advise against. How can we get this to change? I would love to try, as I know many people who would benefit from the correct approach to weight loss.

    There’s lots of good books on it. Give it a whirl. It’s more difficult to lose weight on it if you are post-menopausal but you will feel miles better.

    In 2001 I was diagnosed with diabetes and driving school bus, shortly public transportation, 6 years. When I became insulin dependent, I left transportation. With questions about triglycerides, just answered, thank you. Understanding diabetes. I make pictures. I am no scientist.

    It looks like millions of patiens lives could have been saved decades ago but for missing information like this that has been well documented for years, even since the early pre insulin Jag findings and fasting. With just over 500,00 health care proffesionls on the register mybe a memo to all of them would have a greater impact and an appology for taking so long to solve this issue to all their patients in thier care would be something to concider.

    Thanks for this video! After reading and watching a lot of info on fatty liver, I’m convinced that this is where diabetes makes its home. The pancreas issues, compromised beta cells, is a secondary result of too much sugar/fructose. I wish doctors went right after that testing and diagnosis and start their patients on clearing the liver fat out. An understanding by patients of the metabolic processes might lead to more compliance?

    Hi. I had fatty liver on U sound 16years back I was asked if I was alcoholic. The operator of scan said they see this more now (16years back!) Nothing was followed up with me. I had high triglycerides and have had small stroke at 55yrs. Blood pressure up. Heart calium scan 65percentile. I discovered i got blurred vision an hour after cake. I pee protein sometimes. Minòr kick stand degradation. Xmas I ate 6 sweets and had a couple of wines and a beer. I felt so poorly. I measured fasting bg glucose and was 6.4 cleary abovr normal of 5.0 (7.0 up is T2 ). I looked into this stuff on youtube with rob lustig. Sten eckberg. Ben bickman. Jason fung. Ken berry. Dr bos etc etc and was pleased to seee dr unwin video. The strength of character to admit knowledge gaps is lacking in every gp ive know and they get very defensive if you have read up. Fortunately for the wirlds health cogs are now cast and they are beginning to groan into motion. This life saving knowledge is gradualy filtering through and even the most luddite health care providers who were tought 30yrs ago from books written 20years before that are beginning to wake up. Fasting insulin level is massive benefit rather than hba1c or fasting bg - as neither show the pancreas is having to work say 3-5x normal to keep bg ok. So your sick and damaging things for years prior to T2. Essentially missing the boat and walking blind into T2 when simple test 8years before would have woken need for dietary change. Also healthy Fats are good e g. Kerrygold grass fed butter, avocado oil and good olive oil, red meat fat. Cheeses. Just dont have carbs and sugar with them. LDL is not the bad guy. Its normal. Needed and healthy. Its not Bad. It is turned Bad by having excess sugar in blood often. This glycates the LDL making it small and dense... these now stick to your artery linings and are the seed of arterial plaques/atherosclorosis/heart attack/stroke /pulmonary embolism. Drop sugar. carbs and your bg goes down.. Blood pressure goes down.. HDL goes up.. Triglycerides goes down.. Fatty liver clears.. Arterial plaque growth stops.. Existing plaques reduce and blood flow increases.. Prediabetes reverses.. T2 Reverses.. Massive weight loss.. Arthritic joint pain reduces.. Polysystic ovary reduces boosting fertility.. Dementia and Altzheimers improve..

    and btw you can have low normal blood sugar and still have negative effects cause of high insulin so its not only the high blood sugar its also high insulin an i would say high insulin is even more damaging then high glucose

    Yes, insulin can be elevated for decades and be doing quite a bit of damage behind the scenes - all with fairly normal glucose levels. Therefore, it is important to test for ketones so you know how insulin is behaving.

    Tg: 380 Hdl: 25 Ldl: 80 Vldl: 77 Cholesteol: 150 I'm 34 and not sure where I'm headed. Lost 20 kgs in three years and continue losing weight. I'm 19bmi now soon will be under weight. I'm 5,10. Unable to gain weight. Liver profile always comes out good. Anypiece of advice. I look forward to see my 1.5y and 6y kids grow up but when I look at myself looks like I'm nearing it.

    I've done low carb in the past with good results. Went away from it and more recently have had a problem with headaches. I'm not sure if migraines or what, although a sibling has had migraines... I've gone back to low carb and the headaches seem to be gone.

    Thank you Dr. Unwin. I've followed a low carb high fat diet for a couple years to the degree that I follow a Keto diet. My weight fell rapidly at first and then stabilized, it has been stable for 2 years. Mostly I eat one substantial meal a day, usually breakfast eg steak, mushrooms, tomatoes followed by grazing from the refrigerator on cheese, butter, berries and cream throughout the rest of the day as I feel like. I don't count calories or grams of carbs but I now have very low body fat just by eating when and how much I feel like. I no-longer take milk in tea or coffee but pouring cream (or drink those black). Milk is not low carb but cream is. To try low carb I suggest being strict about it and sticking with the experiment for at least a month to give your body the time it needs to change from burning carbs to burning fat (your body prefers carbs to fat at first, give it the opportunity to adapt by cutting out carb consumption as much as possible initially, just cutting down is not sufficient to get your body to switch). The best thing I ever did was to go low carb.

    WROOOOONG, non organic cattle and pigs are fed with GMO glyphosate treated corn and soy . Add antibiotics to fight crowed conditions causing infections, steroid and growth hormones, synthetic amino acids designed to metabolize corn and soy that disrupt our own amino acid chains, you have a perfect storm of shit meat burgers you are shoving down your throat. If you start with shit meat the processing aspect should be the least of your worries. I wont even mention carcinogenic nitric salts, endocrine disrupters found in colorants and taste enhancers, I have said enough already.

    I'm trying to find the guidance video you mentioned on the RCGP site. Can't seem to figure out where it is. Trying to figure out if I need a liver scan and? if I do ... what will it do to help me? I've already reversed type 2 diabetes and my last blood work showed improvement all around - but not normal yet. But, that blood work was taken 4 months ago and I continue low carbohydrate intake and feel that I am probably healing slowly. *I feel great! Energy all the time (mental and physical) and think this is an odd time to suddenly decide I need a liver scan.

    Years ago, my GI doc diagnosed fatty liver, and when I asked how to treat it, he told me to lose weight. How, I asked, what should I be eating? He had no clue. The internet had conflicting advice. 2 years ago I discovered Dr. Berry, went dirty keto, and in 3 months my liver function tests were normal. My weight has not really changed, so I am starting IF and carnivore to get that taken care of, and treat the rheumatoid arthritis.

    There are different types of sleep apnea. My mom has central apnea. I had very small airways and snored even while using a c-pap or v-pap. My mom is 84 and has done well on cpap for past 25 years. I had double jaw surgery in 2017, Dr moved both jaws forward. I no longer have sleep apnea and my diabetes and metabolic syndrome are improving with lo carb diet and fish oil.

    Agree with this. I would add that in my view the liver acts to buffer blood glucose by synthesising glycogen under the influence of insulin. Excess blood glucose above what is required for metabolism is stored largely in the liver as glycogen. Hepatic glycogen can quickly be converted back to blood glucose when required during fasting conditions. Fatty liver significantly impairs this function of the liver as hepatocytes are full of fat blocking glycogenesis. They cannot effectively buffer the blood sugar associated with excessive calorie containing diets and the result is type 2 diabetes. The key to reversing this situation is removing the fat from the liver which can be done relatively quickly with severe calorie restriction for a few weeks as Professor Taylor has shown. This should be the standard of care offered by the NHS to all newly diagnosed type 2 DM and fatty liver disease.

    The liver stores up to 100gm of glycogen whereas muscles store 500 to 1000g of it depends on how muscular you are. Up to 30% of glucose is converted to fructose in the liver when blood glucose is high.

    Why do so many people do not develop type 2 diabetes despite their unhealthy lifestyle? I on the other hand are not a bakery type person. I barely eat icecream etc. and yet I developed type 2 diabetes at age 65. I inherited this gene from my mother since 3 of us siblings have this condition. Some just much earlier than me.

    But you may have been eating bananas,rice,potatoes,fries and bread, cereal and oatmeal.These are all very high carb as is milk and sugared pop

    It is so sad that we trust our doctors - I went Paleo felt so healthy - then my doctor put the fear of God in me as my cholesterol was high - so I went 15 years longer getting more and more sick in both body and brain - I now through my own research understand that doctors are following wrong science on cholesterol - my cholesterol now is rocket high and I am pleased to say at 54 - I feel AMAZING and all my crazy health issues have nearly reversed - plus my brain has calmed down - I am now a Carnivore - 2.5 years - eat loads all day - 5foot 6 and I weigh between 58 to 62 kilos - eating lots and lots of tallow, duck fat and even begun to eat raw beef fat as I now realise it is great for brain health. So sad that the medical profession is keeping us sick. Well done to you Dr Unwin - it is just so sad the NHS and the BMA are ignoring everything. I have had to educate my doctors - but now have no intention to ever go back to the doctors.

    My dr suggested keto. I have a genetic joint issue and was desperate..I followed the guidelines..im a nurse and it wasnt working.. 6 mo ths into keto so much amazing results and my total cholesterol went up. I told her to trust me like I trusted her and told her to find the research amd find the opposimg view. Mext visit she agreed she was wrong. There is hope..I asked her to reass all her patients on statins. 🙏

    How do you explain that going on to high carb my GGT went from 27 to 14? And my TG is 0.6.

    Thank you! Regarding GGT, Koenig & Seneff have found, that GGT 60 years ago was below 20 in men, and below 10 in women. GGT 50 (the false high range of GGT ) reflects an over 2 fold risk in all cause mortality, CVD, and cancer. The ALT range 50 years ago was below 25. The final proof of health is not simple blood tests, but Watt per kg bodyweight, at lactic acid 1.5mMol…. 4 Watts per kg at this low level of LA is Proof of good health
