I am so glad to see an up-and-coming, rising star of this particular genre giving props to Dr. Weil. Dr. Weil is responsible for educating my generation (brought up on pop-tarts for breakfast, smoking being permissible in restaurants, and watching the 6 o'clock news while eating KFC or grilled hot dogs for dinner) on all things mind-body-spirit. I attribute my health journey kicking off with 8 Weeks to Optimum Health and I can still recall the day I saw it on the table in a bookstore in the mall and purchased it. It changed my life.Dr. Weil is one of the greatest thought leaders of my generation.

@@marshawalker5273 I've wondered about that, too. However, he's always been the same body type, from what I can tell. Just like some people are 'skinny-fat' I think some can be 'healthy-fat' too. I think of Oprah when I think of this category. She seems to have adopted a healthy lifestyle but her genetic predisposition seems to allow her to carry more weight but she has indicated when she shares her health journey with us that all her HRV/cholesterol/BP/bone density markers are on point.

I shared the same feeling of inter-connectedness Dr. Andrew described, from doing half doses of mescaline, psilocybin, and peyote in my college years in the Pacific Northwest. We picked psilocybin mushrooms at dawn, which grew in ‘fairy rings’ in areas with rich soil, like cow pastures. We’d make tea and walk for hours in the forest, feeling awe and connection with all of nature. I’m a lightweight so instinctively took less than others, which worked well for me. The experiences opened my mind and spurred creativity, set me on a lifelong path, and formed a core spirituality of reverence for nature and the Universal Energy. I became a professional artist, animal advocate, Master Gardener, and vegetarian/ vegan/ pescatarian for over 50 years. I could go on about my incredible experiences! I haven’t felt a need to use these substances anymore, as I learned what they had to teach me, which was transformative!

Thank you for having Dr. Weil on your podcast, he is simply the best. One day he will be revered and celebrated (in due time all will be revealed & understood) like so many that came before him. Ignaz Semmelweis was a physician and scientist who figured out that doctors could decrease the number of deaths, infections just by washing their hands. His simple idea could have saved countless lives, but he was largely ignored and laughed at. Dr. Weil is a genius, I wish all doctors were trained in naturopathic medicine. What a wonderful and healthy world it would be.

I've learned not to focus on the few largely publicised superfoods and instead settle for as much variety as possible with only two rules: eat more of raw foods and less of cooked/processed and fast every now and then. Spending time alone from time to time is good. I've adopted gardening as a hobby/passion as this can get you grounded, exercised and exposed to fresh air/sunshine all at the same time as well as producing the fresh food.

How wonderful to hear him speak of his awareness of every objects' consciousness as a result of taking psychedelics. That was my experience as well. It can be an incredible deep dive and mind opening connection to the world around us and the knowledge that we are all connected, particularly to nature.

Me too! I just love his books. I still have 2 of them. I trust him more than anyone about nutrition. I just love broccoli! I don't like "mushy" vegetables. I love green tea!( But I still mess up and eat some bad stuff.) I shall try the turmeric tea if I can get some. I grew up on tea! I grew up on a farm with fresh vegetables. The women on my Mom's side lived long lives. They ate good food, exercised, and went to church. Grandma: 92, Great Aunt Jenny:100, Great Aunt Mattie: 106, Mom: now 88 and still going strong despite a brain tumor. THANK YOU! DR WEIL!!!! Algae oil sounds gross, however, LOL.

Being slim is not a synonym of being healthy. He has never stressed on weight issue in his teachings, and this is the most amazing thing!! You may be chubby and still age healthily. He is a living proof of it. Your comment makes me think that you are a bitter person - and it´s not an emotion that will help you age healthily... I guess the latter is what you are looking for in here.

Thank you Dr Weil! You’re the first person I’ve heard speak to the relationship between MDMA and mescaline, other than myself. When I was a nurse, in the university library I happened upon the chemical structure of MDMA in a book which said the chemical structure was the same basically as mescaline. Thank you for that confirmation finally, it’s taken 20 years to have that confirmed 😁❤️😘

Dudes just a pro drug hippy with completely unfounded and down right dangerous beliefs on psychedelics. Yes they do have very profound negative effects and chronic marijuana use is proven to have a degenerative affect on the brain. I dabbled in them, my friend dabbled in them a bit more and was the only person in his family to develop schizophrenia

Transformation to consciousness is very interesting... Similar to an awakening. A divine experience to bringing you closer to the spirit /energy of the universe.. instead of everyone walking from their flesh they move by their spirit.. intentionally good and serving to create all things better. Ive enjoyed this discussion while doing dishes.

Great to hear among other things the effect of the Mind on the body I'm a Mind/Body Connection speaker and I keep myself healthy and happy with this. In another podcast you enquired about Trance Channeling and I would like to recommend Jane Roberts book called Seth Speaks and my other favourite is Debbie Shapiro Your Body Speaks Your Mind. It's great to have Indian role models growing up in the 70 I had only access to Indian Gurus which saw me right I'm not complaining. It's great listening to your podcast 👌
