Dr Aafia Siddiqui - Why the US Don't Want Her Released with Clive Stafford Smith

You can write to Dr Aafia via her lawyer on email clive@3dc.org.uk . The deadline for the first round of letters is 1/8/23 - you can still send letters after this date for future visits. Please place in the subject of the email: Thinking Muslim letter for Aafia.
Clive has set up a crowdfunding page for a monthly standing order/debit for Aafia; this is to pay for a young Pakistani researcher to help on the case and to fund the trips to the US etc. Use - www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/freea...
Although the war on terror is now a distant memory to many Americans, it’s horrible residue remains. The incarceration of Aafia Siddiqui, a brilliant academic and mother of three, has become a symbol of its excesses, of which there were many. She languishes in prison, serving an 86-year sentence for an offence that looks barely credible, the attempted murder of two US officials in Afghanistan in 2008. Her whereabouts before that date remain murky, and so does the welfare of her youngest son Suleman - who has not been seen since her detention in 2003.
To help us unpick the facts, we have invited Aafias lawyer Clive Stafford Smith to shed light on what happened to Aafia and her children. Clive has helped secure the release of 86 prisoners from Guantánamo Bay and still acts for the remaining numbers. Since the early days of the War on Terror, he has worked tirelessly to force the Americans and other Western powers to adhere to the rule of law. He has sought to uncover the secret prisons and ghost prisoners that stain the reputation of powerful states - who presented their wars in benevolent terms.

This is by far the clearest and most detailed account of the kidnapping, torture and imprisonment of Aafia. We must now launch a massive campaign for her release with special emphasis on the USA. With the aid of this video, let's consider starting small groups of the "Release Aafia" campaign in our neighborhood that should follow a well thought out strategy for a global demand for her release. The strategy should include the boycott of American goods and travel if she continues to remain in prison

Aafia's own husband divorced her because rather than be a wife to him and mother to her children, she was more interested in jihadi politics and anti Americanism. There is usually more than one side to this story. Best to hear all sides before jumping the gun.

This is a must-watch for all Muslims, especially as the case of Dr Aafia has never had media attention and is therefore lost to most Muslims today. It is truly one of the most heinous crimes against any individual Muslim, and by extension the Muslim Ummah as a whole. We must know about this and support the work to free her- I dont say to give her justice as I don’t think that is possible in this life, but is guaranteed by Allah in the next life. Assalamu alaikum, Thank you for your reminder about our sister, Dr. Afia Siddiqui. It's heartbreaking to think about the hardships she's endured, and it's difficult to comprehend that some of our own may have been involved in this. The idea of creating local "Free Aafia" groups truly reflects the spirit of Ummah. By starting in our own neighborhoods, we can echo her plight from our minarets to the world's capitals. Remember, our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, "The believers in their mutual kindness, compassion, and sympathy are just like one body." So, when one part of the body suffers, the whole body feels pain. Your call for a strategic boycott of American goods and travel is a peaceful yet powerful demonstration of our collective strength. This is a reflection of the Islamic principle of Amr Bil Ma'ruf, which means enjoining good. It's evident that your commitment is deep-rooted and firm, Alhamdulillah. Your kind words for brother Clive remind me of the Hadith, "The best of people are those that bring most benefit to the rest of mankind." He has been a pillar of strength in this journey, a true Mujahid, advocating tirelessly for our sister Afia's release. Inshallah, let's keep up this momentum and pray for Afia's freedom. We are an Ummah bound by our faith and commitment to justice. Together, with the help of Allah, we can work towards a brighter future for our sister Afia. Let's not forget, "Verily, with hardship there is relief." (Quran 94:6) May Allah guide us in this endeavor and reward us for our efforts. Ameen.

What an shocking experience Dr Aafia lived & is living😢. She has a wonderful lawyer in Clive Smith; I truly understood his interpretation of the nightmare she is enduring. May she be united with her family and may Allah grant her more than what she lost. So sad to ger that she lost her youngest child during her abduction. Absolutely horrific what USA has done to her 5 year old, 3 year old & 6 month old💔

I have heard from other sources about Pak generals and other officials taking bounty money to hand people over to be tortured by the Americans, most of these people ended up being released after being tortured cos they were innocent, what terrible injustice committed by so called muslims. May Allah help Afia and bring her back to her family and all the other people who were tortured

In honor (honour) of Dr Aafia Siddiqui me and my mate Karl Booth, in 2021 finalised a road-cycling route and rode it. It's 240 miles with 14000ft of elevation. It goes from the Masjid in Dewsbury to East London Masjid (in London). I will link the ride as well as the route below.

It is beyond heart wrenching to be done all this to you and on top of that that your kids are taken away from you and tortured themselves when your family and you did everything to grant them a better life. Their lives was stolen from them for no reason. Just like that. Dr Aafia must know a secret about the US government or something that is scaring them to death to be destroying such a woman and her family. Or her genius and abilities are scaring them…

I’ve only got great admiration for Arfiya she is a prisoner of all that is wrong with Pakistani military and intelligence services. In the name of its greed for US Dollars, corruption these institutions sold a innocent daughter of Pakistan to the most horrific of incarceration in modern history. It’s only by the will of Allah she is still alive. May Allah release her from her captivity and reunite her with her family. Ameen. For those who have financially benefited from a innocent mum’s arrest & torture, and for those who perpetuated her ordeal may Allah deal with them in this life or in the hereafter. Ameen.
