Excellent tutorial. The moving the moon part made me understand properly how the 'copy from source' tool works. This has opened up a lot of interesting possibilities for me. I appreciated how the extra info (moving moon) was incorporated into a quick, but full edit using DPP4. Also, the final version looked great and was a significant improvement from the RAW file.

I love your tutorials, especially for DPP4. I use this software for most of my basic editing, sending the TIFF fie to photoshop plug-ins (Nik software) afterward. I may use Adobe Camera RAW if I shoot for HDR. Your tutorials are very well done and I always learn something. What I like about DPP 4, and I'm not the first to say that is the Canon colors. They are simply superb and if we want to process RAW photos and get these beautiful colors, the way to go is to use DPP4. I know that it has some limitations but when we use it in combination with more advance software, the results are simply great. Thanks again and continue your excellent work.

Thank you so much for watching and for your encouraging comment. I feel the same way about the colors that it produces, they are really great so my starting point for editing RAW files is always DPP4 and then if I need to make more adjustments to specific subjects I will jump to Photo Shop. Quite often DPP4 is enough to get what I'm after from a photo.

Hey Dom enjoyed you video guide and learned a lot, I like DPP4 and wanted to ask if you know of anyway to improve performance? Its good tools but it so slow and it doesn't matter if you have 10 year old laptop of latest MacBook Pro intel i9? any clues?

Hi Kevin, thank you for the nice comment and question. Unfortunately it is a bit slow on my lap top also, you cant see that in the videos because I usually cut out the scenes where I have to wait for the photo to load up. I have an i7 gaming lap top which is pretty fast for most other things including video editing. From the research that I've done, people suggest that checking the 'Use graphic processor for image processing' can slightly improve the speed if you have a reasonably good graphic card. This can be found Under Tools>Preferences>Image Processing 2>Graphic processor setting Someone also mentioned that having the Lens data applied in the 'Perform image lens correction' tab can significantly slow down the performance, although I have not tested this out. I'm really hoping that Canon release an update at some point that addressed this problem.

@@DomsMediaZone Shooting at lower resolution like sRAW is a good solution for better performance.
