Man I love these old episodes. The first clip is by far Doyles best moment. It cracks me up every time xD I love going back 10-15 years in regards of poker. So many good memories. I just regret not to have stuck around or well having had such a bad mindset. Life could be a lot different today. Anyway, overall great memories!
It’s so cool like Doyle Brunson is like your Uncle just having a good time among many changing nieces and nephews on the poker table.
True Legend. Thank you for everything you've done for poker.
The godfather of poker
Doyle's play is everything a poker player should be. No yelling, no cursing, no woofing, just playing his cards (yeah, along with a harsh glare or two). And I love his post-flop aggression when it looks like he has the nuts. Sheer guts. And love his Doyle's Room hat. Spent most of my online life there; it had a real down-home feel and was very sociable. I won a tourney there, the prize was a signed copy of Doyle's Super System. Now no more.
That "Well, almost" bit always makes me laugh. ☺️
Love Doyle and Gabe. Like when he calls him big poppa.. His impersonation of Ivey is priceless!.. Lol. The call with A/10 was amazing!
Rest easy legend
I've have watched Doyle's gigging Phil Ivey on his commercial many times it's good natured and funny! I think Phil liked it as much as anybody!
This series was pure gold, so entertaining, and the TWO hosts were spot on. Yea, Im saying two of them, I know Gabe was the heart and soul of HSP, but both actually had very important role to make this perfect mix. I wont forget till I die when Gabe said that Phill Hellmuth looks like a shy ostreich looking for mate. I died almost. It was SO funny. Why? Because it was true ofc. Now, if you wander how a human can make a shy osterich look alike, you find that episode and see for yourself.

Once upon a time, the rule in 'big bet' games was that the wager wasn't closed until the "player's hands come to rest outside of the betting area". When NL became the most popular form of poker and became common at low stakes, the rule was changed because it was prone to abuse. Among high stakes players where a higher degree of ethics is expected, there is some leniency on what constitutes a string bet.
