Down Pipe with Sports Cat | Fiesta ST | Whoosh Motorsports

www.buymeacoff...
quadlock.refr.c...
In Episode 2 of Operation Stage 2 I take it to local Mechanic Mitch to install the Whoosh Motorsports 3" Downpipe with 200 Cell Sports Cat. I purchased the adapter plate also from Whoosh Motorsports to ensure a smoother fit to my standard cat back exhaust. I went a step further and took the Downpipe to Hyper Coating in Western Sydney for a thermal ceramic coat!
The downpipe fit to the Euro/Aussie car no problems and may be a cheaper option for those in Australia as shipping is much cheaper. The reason I chose Whoosh Motorsports over Miltek, Mountune, Mishimoto, Cobra etc etc is the price! The cheapest Downpipe I found (Online in Australia at the time I was looking) of any other brand was starting just over $700 AU and up to $1100 AU+ for the Miltek. I was able to nab the intake, downpipe and adapter for just over $700 AU!!!
Stick around in the video for before and after sound clips later on.

I really like how it sounds with the stock exhaust. Just a bit lower, with a touch of turbo whoosh and whistle. An aftermarket exhaust will make it sound meaner, but from what I read, it doesn't add any significant power. The stock exhaust isn't really restrictive in the first place.

Yeah the stock cat back will flow enough for what I want. I may in future get a custom 2.5" system for a tiny bit more noise.

not true, I've changed to a Milltek non res race which adds very noticeable gas reaction time, maybe touch faster spool time and you feel in 1st and 2nd gear that its allows gas to escape quicker, its hard to describe but i did not expect such a difference.

These downpipes are great with a tune , as the engine accelerates they allow the turbo to keep accelerating , unlike the OEM cat which diminishes turbo acceleration as engine accelerates hence a drop in power in the higher rpm's.

Thanks. The standard heatshield is mouled to the standard downpipe so doesn't fit, hence the thermal coating. The manifold heat shield, firewall and exhaust tunnel heat shields remain in place. No support screws.

Currently have the intake and crossover pipes from ITG, is it possible to have the stock exhaust and fit in the sports cat? Personally likely to go with Miltek, but not sure if it’s a direct swap out with existing stock cat or not!

Hi and thank you. It depends really. The answer is probably not. Especially if it's a Milltek which is 2.75" anyway so only a bit smaller. At the time, I had a standard cat back exhaust so for the small cost of the reducer I put it on.
