Dovetail Log Cabin Full Build Timelapse
The outside/exterior of the dovetail log cabin is complete!
There will still be some minor things to do on the outside, and lots and lots of work left to do on the inside, but the exterior is basically complete!
This video shows the process from milling the first log, to putting on the finishing pieces of window trim this fall - and everything in between. It has been a fun and rewarding experience seeing the cabin take shape.
I cannot say thank you enough to the people who have helped in this journey - Thank-you!
I will continue to work on the interior of the cabin, as well as a small woodshed and toolshed. I also have some other project and adventure ideas as well.
Thank-you for watching!

I am so In love with you build, my wife and I have been looking at some land to buy and build on in Colorado. I just wished I had the skill set that you have so I could build our for ever home. I've been through 2 back surgeries and battled cancer so my labor is limited. I will not give in to them disabilities with my determination and God's will we will build our home. Hello there. It sounds like you have some lovely birds where you are. I like the way you have formed the corners of the building. I'm a great believer of tieing in and keeping a bond. I was a stone Waller and mason. I'm retired now and like to watch others. You must get a lot of satisfaction out of that. I know I would.

I just like to watch. Wish I could build me a small log cabin for my retirement.
Thanks for a quick overview. It gave me ideas for how to finish my own build.
Well done young man. Never underestimate how much pressure doing things like this while you're trying takes off you later in life. A home no one can take away from you means you never have to sleep in the cold. Invest in those things and your self reliance while you're young We never know when the world we live in is gonna turn for the worse. Self reliance is the only true freedom we have. Well done sir. Indeed.
Man it's a serious dream of mine to build a cabin in the mountains here in Arkansas. I'd be doing a mostly solo build, so it'd be nothing this beautiful or detailed. But man, wow what a freaking beautiful build!

Who does the video editing? From the beginning of the channel and getting much better over time: the alternation of high/low shots, the inside/outside, slow/fast takes, construction/nature scenes. It transforms the video into a very cohesive and immersive experience. The flow is organic, soothing and dynamic at the same time. And the music selection! Was it your sister making the videos? Kudos to her, or whomever is involved!

Super cabin.
Awesome job thank you for sharing
it for the roof after you lay water resistant rolls you had to secure them by placing planks vertically not horizontally! Then on top of vertical planks you lay another horizontal planks for metal sheets to attach to, thus water condensate will accumulate on the inside metal sheet and it water drops will drop on to the water resistant layer and thus it will have a tunnel to travel all the way down to the ground, but it now it will water drip from metal sheet layer and will accumulate on the horizontal plank and it water will ice and it will rot away horizontal plank eventually
Beyond beautiful.Well done.
