Douglas Murray: ‘Much better’ for Palestinian public if Hamas is ‘done for’
Author Douglas Murray believes it would be “much better” for the Palestinian public if Hamas is “done for”.
US President Joe Biden has urged Israel not to go ahead with such an operation over fears it would exacerbate the humanitarian catastrophe in the Palestinian enclave.
Last week, Biden said the United States would not provide offensive weapons for a Rafah invasion, raising pressure on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
“My prediction is that these every other year wars that Hamas has been provoking since it took control of Gaza would just go on in that scenario,” Mr Murray told Sky News host Rita Panahi.
“I think it is much better for the Israeli public and, indeed, the Palestinian public that Hamas are done for - that it’s over.”

I am not young, I am 65 born and bred in the UK, but I can understand why people born here would not want to fight, as we have now been over-run by outsiders and I would not want to fight to protect them.

Palestine has a toxic ideaology that runs right through. So yeah, Hamas or its heirs will be back. Its hard to fix a culture that doesn't want to get fixed. Israel has a culture issue too - and corruption - but that can be more easily healed.
