The Grande Fratello is a larger iteration of Doug Marcaida's DART design that has been very popular. The concept was to have a large cleaver that could be used for outdoor tasks like cooking, but could also be multifunctional as a blade for self-defense applications.

AZWELKE SHEATHS makes a GREAT Prather Kydex sheath and you don't even have to send the knife in!!! Check em out!!!
This knife has alot of cues from the prather war bowie from tops... just a tanto and a bit more cleaver shaped.

I like blades too. I bought the Blackhawk Tatang years ago. wanted it because 1. COD and 2. it was FMA inspired. still new in box. But its a heavy blade. What is the weight on this beast?

That 420HC steel choice ain't so great but its good enough i suppose. Itd be better if it were a bit tougher steel imo but that's me.

If the steel was better, it would be good. $120.00 for a knife with 420 steel is kind of a lot.
Yeah maybe use a decent steel, not 420.

@@jammbbs1688 It's good enough for Buck knives. When 420HC is heat treated properly it will hold an edge well and be able to resharpen easily. And on self defense knives, the type of steel doesn't matter much anyway.
