Doug Clifford is the reason I started playing Drums. Most underrated Rock Drummer.

Doug is a really nice guy, too! I wrote him a letter when I was a teenager in 1993, asking questions about the band and the songs, and he called me on the phone and talked with me for over an hour. That's one of the best memories of my life! Years later, I was able to sit in on the sound check of a Creedence Clearwater Revisited concert, and I met him in person and got him to autograph my copy of his 1972 "Cosmo" album.

Quando si ascoltano le canzoni dei ccr doug più che suonare la batteria la faccia quasi parlare e chi dice che non ha uno stile personale sbaglia . I creedence hanno avuto un successo strepitoso certo per il genio di john fogerty ma sicuramente anche per il modo di suonare la batteria di doug clifford. Senza di lui non c'è più stato un creedence sound basta ascoltare john anche nelle performance più attuali dove hanno suonato batteristi fantastici eppure l' effetto non è più stato lo stesso. I detrattori di cosmo dovrebbero ricredersi e ammettere che è un vero batterista .e che stu e davvero un grande bassista e tom era un talento.
