Double Wing Skwala- Fly Tying Tutorial
The Skwala hatch has been popping off and those big fish are looking up. Time to tie some Double Wing Skwalas and hit the river. The profile on this skwala is made even more realistic with some gadwall feathers and will float in the proper zone with some deer hair and foam.

Hook: Ahrex FW500 size 8
Thread: UniThread 6/0 Camel
Tails: Peccary (optional)
Extended Body: Hareline Thin Foam Orange 2mm
Underwings: Spawn Super Select Gadwall Feathers Platinum
Overwing: Whitetail Deer Hair
Thorax: Spawn Simi Seal Acid Rain
Head: Hareline Thin Foam Black 2mm
Legs: Hareline Grizzly Barred Round Rubber Medium Orange
Cement: Loon Hard Head

Stripped quills from a hackle feather work very well, but you could also use rubber legs or Flex Floss for some added movement!
