What amazes me is the fact that those drivers have no respect for other road users and the law does nothing about it. I am a driver and love driving but i respect a vehicle once it is loaded as it is much harder to stop in an emergency the distance of coming to a stop is much longer under weight especially going down hill and let us not forget brakes do fail.

on the other hand Jamaca has a relatively low rate of road deaths per capita (100,000 inhabitants) per year, for instance you have a greater chance of death on the roads of USA which has a worse rate of road deaths per capita per year, and when you consider the many disparity's between Jamaca and the USA the fact the rate of road deaths per capita in Jamaca is lower says a lot, like that the genral standard of driving in Jamaca is potentially better than the USA, as Jamaca is probably not reducing the road death rate by standards of medical care at hospitals, the standards of EMS\fire and rescue care at the roadside etc etc, even though proximity to a major hospital is probably better in Jamaca than for some parts of the USA.
