Diggin' the pants Daric. Dig your teaching technique. I've gotta say, the newer closer camera angle is great. I'm hoping this will help with learning this ever-illusive technique. Thanks.

Thanks, Daric. Your lessons are terrific. Sometimes, when I record a bass part, I try to imagine myself channeling the same great energy you exude.

I'm a beginner Bass player. I bought a 5string Bass. Should I have gotten the 4String? Some times I find myself accidentally hitting other strings when playing. It's like the strings are to close to getter. Would learning Bass be easier with the 4string? Thanks to anyone, in advance.

I never had a callous on my thumb until I started trying to do this double thumb thing. It's hard for me, It's like slapping upside down. It still does not feel great, It's definitely situational for me. It has to feel good, to be useful though. I can see this one being a muscle memory thing. I do a lot of different stuff on bass though, nobody knew what this technique was like way back in the day. Someone just figured something out, it got popular this technique. There's still more new things we can figure out with the bass, in general too. There's basically no rules, if it's just you and a bass. There's many ways to be good as well, slap, fingerstyle, solos. Some guys can be good with a pick, or not. This talk like bass is easy, not if you're trying to be good. It's the same as any instrument, there's unlimited things to learn. If you want to learn different music and be versatile, it will take you many years. Learn all of the genres you can, does not matter what you look like at all. Music is music, it's an audio not a visual. Seems like people been stuck in the same genres since the 1980's, everyone needs to branch out !. Don't be afraid to try a new style of music.
