We're in "June-uary" here, actually had snow at the Cabin last Saturday. Some friends in Idaho had snow yesterday. Hard on the gardens but I'm in no rush to get to the heat. Buck Rangers are awesome. If it wasn't for the 110 it would be my favorite knife. I carry and use the 112 frequently, especially if I'm in town. The 112 is an excellent carving knife. I've been rediscovering Buck 110/112 for over 50 years now. I'll try something else for a while but I always come back to the 110 and 112. These days, they come in so many flavors too. I can almost carry a different 110 or 112 for every day of the month.

For those who do not like the size or weight of the 110, the 112 is a great option, 2 great looking knives, thanks for the review, Pete.

Both of those Buck 112's are impressive pieces! I like the look of the clip point better, but find the spear point more useful to carry. Of the two, I would go for the spear point every time. I got lucky and snagged one of the magnacut 112's that came out last February.

Thanks for showing that new one - I like the covers! BTW, I believe you’ll find that the sheath is made in Mexico. I’d like to grab one of those special 112s from Blade HQ, but already blew my $$$ a while back getting the stealth #6 special 112 with Magnacut & Honduran rosewood. It’s sweet!

I remember years ago in Houston on a rock station… ‘two for Tuesday ‘ .. I like the pulling out some old but good. .. (AND also when it has sentimental value ). I have an old craftsman knife 5 inch lockback that was my edc for my first years getting into a journeyman trade.. I wore that five years in construction and first few years of maintenance ( I worked in the elevator trade). I take that one out every so often to do something with it’s like visiting an old friend. I have a few USA Schrade lockbacks that ( buck )size. My girls and I ( 25 30 years ago ) debarked over 200 saplings for walking staffs .. one of them used that smaller schrade lockback and and I would use my Camillus made Sears craftsman( it had soft grip handles and ‘finger cuts design ‘to grip . Buck makes that finger cut design in this knife and the 110 .. I got grandkids now and I’m playing with the idea of getting one of those knives for my grandson. Nice sized knife not too big /heavy plus that design . What is your opinion the 112 knife with the finger grooves design?
