Some of those long-eared sunfish make me want a 300 gallon aquarium. Admiring them is definitely something I enjoy about catching them!

I'm glad you explained a Long Ear Sunfish is NOT another name for a Pumpkin Seed. I would've sworn it was.

Those were some of the prettiest gillies I've seen. They don't get that kind of coloring here in Colorado. Awesome!

Beautiful colors on those long Ears! Those Aberdeen hooks sure do work well as a dropshot hook for Gulps! Gotta give them a try.

vesco32 glad to hear it man! Well that depends where in the state you are and if you have a boat. If you don’t have a boat or kayak I don’t know if the lakes will be worth it for you. There are some good ditches throughout the state and some rivers down south that are good for bass

Hi. I live in the UK and really enjoy your channel. It's good to see someone who just likes to fish without all the hoopla I see on some other channels. Fishing is mostly very different over here compared to the USA but you have pretty fish. I may try some of your drop shot tactics though just to see what happens! Keep it realistic and keep them coming. Tight lines.

Hoopla is what American fishermen do best. I guess I like fishing for different reasons than they do.

Not only beautiful fish but beautiful bird song. While watching, I had to figure out whether it was my birds or the video I where could hear the bird song.🤯😊🎣

Longear sunfish and RedSpotted sunfish are both my favorite to catch out of pretty much all sunfish. They are so beautiful 100%. Tight lines brotha

I'd have an aquarium full of them long eared sun fish. So colorful.

That baby Longear Sunfish is the type we have up here in Michigan. I caught a few the other day on Gulp Minnows. One of them swallowed the Gulp Minnow while I was unhooking it... vicious little things haha.

i got a bunch of these little ones down in arkansas. I really wish we had those here, the colors are amazing. I would have some in my fish tank. Great session. Panfishing is becoming my favorite.

Great video, those long ear sunfish are something else. Don't have them in NJ unfortunately. Fished a large pond at a local community college, got 4 largemouth bass on a wacky rig, all fairly small but fun as hell.

Caught 42 bluegill crappie and redear today. Man that was fun

I usually go towards anything with heavy scent or live bait when I can’t find fish around. Even at the honey hole fishing was scarce. We’ve been having days at 93 °F but some other days it’ll be 71 °F and four days ago when I woke up, it was 51 °F outside. Which is not normal for my part of Arizona.

When the hook is upside down, run the tag end back through the hook eye from the front

What size hooks were you using? Size 8 Aberdeen?

Just curious... is there any reason you prefer the drop shot over the hook and bobber rig? I'm just wondering cuz I usually go with a weighted bobber and wondering if I'd have better luck going drop shot

I use plenty of bobber rigs as well. Its hard to fish 2 jigs under a float though... They get really tangled up.

Alex, how is the Large Mouth Bass bite doing this time of year in your neck of the woods?

A was catching a few different kinds and colors of panfish at a spill way the other day. I dont know the different tgpe of species. One of them was orange like that. I will habe to take pictures next time.

I love the variety in panfish. There are subtle differences that make them fun to identify 👍

Dislikes are from Zoom reps hatin' that you catch fish w/out the tail 🤣

I get snagged constantly with just one hook talk about 2! and I've never even seen a pumpkinseed that colorful!

Oh, yeah, that's a chunky bluegill! Nice! How are those minnow jars, as far as leaking goes? (Now that you've fully tested that jar!) I've just bought the little packets because I keep reading that the jars leak all over. Maybe they got better and I'm just reading old comments?
