Bass Fishing at a NEW LAKE! - How to Catch Bass from the Bank

Спорт

Want to see how to catch bass while fishing from the bank at a new lake? Watch as I fish a new lake front park at a new lake. I drove over an hour to fish this new spot. I start with a wacky rig senko and get a small bass. I continue fishing the senko and eventually get another bass which is a bit bigger. After a while I decide to give a jerkbait a try and catch another bass, which I think is a spotted bass. If so, it just might be my first one. I came to the new lake with some confidence that I got from fishing my local lake. Want to know how to catch bass from the bank at a new lake? Maybe this style of bass fishing will work for you.

One of the main reasons I watch your channel is the fact you don't edit out the misses, snags, and hangups. You don' just show the catches and biggest fish because that is REAListic Fishing keep it up Brother!

Another way to tell a largemouth from a spot is the roughness of the tongue. LMB have smooth tongues while spots have a rough tongue. Thanks for another awesome video. Keep it up!

And that's awesome that you caught your first spotted bass. Feels good catching something new. Two nights ago, I went to a lake close to my house, where I was told the trout had been wiped out by Smallies. A few casts in, while dragging something like a grub on the bottom in the mud, I hooked my first Brooke Trout. It was around 10+ inches. I was so pumped to have caught something besides a bass there, after hearing there were no trout left in the lake.

I love your videos. I just found you tonight. I retired from the Military and moving back to Texas where I grew up. Haven't fished in years and am getting back into it, Learning from videos such as yours and a few others. I really like yours and your way of doing things and making them. I was to late in getting in on your give away but hope to maybe get in on another. I am learning what kind of baits, worms, etc. I need to start getting so I can have a pretty good set when I get there. I will be checking out all your videos,,, probably will watch a few more tonight... Thanks for your work.... er hobby .... er fun in making your videos for us to enjoy watching and learning from.

You are a pretty good bank pounder. I bet you would slay em from a kayak. Walmart has a sit on top 10' for 160 bucks rn. You should be looking at them to give you access to more fish. I bet if you did a funding for a cheap kayak thing, youd get support from us subs. Id put in a few bucks. Any how, good stuff bearded bruh.

i have 4 ruptured disks , and my trips are usually less than 2 hours before its too painful to keep fishing. i think you are overthinking kayak fishing. i take one rod and a small box of lures. my kayak cost 200 bucks new. 50 for a paddle and 80 for a good vest. the car i had when i bought mine was a 4 door oldsmobile. only takes ten minutes t tie it down and 2 to untie. myself , and many others here would probably agree with my suggestion on picking up a cheapo and bustn bass from it (realistic style) im dirt poor and use the same kinda stuff you do. stuff i get on clearance, pawn shops,etc... i catch the shit out of fish from my cheap little boat and i think youd be even better at it than i. just a thought or two from a fan . peace .

I think that would nullify everything that the essence of this blog is all about.... Unfortunately we have a lot of KZread about fishing from a boat or a kayak...definitely much easier but we can not all have a boat or kayak... A lot of us started the hobby bank fishing because of what ever reason being be monetary or otherwise we could not have a boat or kayak ... With the way that a lot of us urban fishermen are we cannot have such an option... Wish we did but realisticlly due to monetary or space restrictions it wll not happen... I live in the San Francisco Bay Area ...where space and high of living are at a high premium ....

Congrats on your first spot! It definitely was a spot. Another way to tell is a largemouth jaw line when closed will go passed it's eye. A spot (kentucky) won't. And of course the rough patch on the tongue but I have also caught largemouth with the rough patch so I wouldn't go by that. The markings on it I could tell it definitely was a spot. Nice fish!

Got out of work early today and got to fish a little. Took me about 2 hours to figure out what they wanted to eat, but a weightless T-Rigged Watermelon Yum Dinger kicked butt. 11 Bass in 45 minutes. Nothing big, but a whole lot of fun. New bodies of water can be a pain glad to see you caught some at the new lake. I'm going to have to try a jerkbait after seeing you catching them left and right on them year round. Spotted Bass have a rough spot on their tongue if you feel for it, feels like sandpaper.

I usually tell spots apart from largies by patterns and mouth size, but if a bass does not have a rough patch on it's tounge, that is definite indicator that it is a largemouth.

Thanks for going to a different body of water. It's good to change things up now and again. Congrats on your first spot. You may know this already but spots have a rough patch on their tongue that also gives it away. Nice video!
