Double Crochet for Beginners | How to Stitch and Turn
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Double crochet is one of the most common stitches used in crochet, so it’s time to learn how to do it!
I actually don’t make a lot of designs with double crochet (you’ll see why in the video), but it’s important to know how to do it so that you can do the more fun variations: front post double crochet, back post double crochet, seed stitch, basket weave stitch, etc. I’ll have more tutorials on all these more advanced stitches coming up!

I have been "crocheting" for about 6 months now and why has no one in any other video or irl explained that I was yarning over not enough and pulling through the wrong stitch? Finally!!! We have a capable teacher here on KZread.

Just a friendly reminder that title KZread is a pretty big place and the content you will see, even in search results, is very algorithm driven. There are plenty of capable teachers out there. Don't make the mistake of thinking that the first one KZread showed you is the only one (or even the one who has been there longest).
7:23 is what I came here to learn, and I'm so glad it's just "stab it and hope for the best"

Same haha!!
thank god for someone who goes slow and explains stuff as they go , desperately trying to make a blanket for my pregnant daughter and its all scallops and turning and I cant wait for my tutorer to open her store
man ive spent the last few days struggling but this video finally taught me how to double crochet!
Thank You. I truly struggled with that part as a newbie. You are a true Gem 💎 of God 🙏🏽❤️.
This was very helpful for the last stitch getting done into a turning chain. That's the part that keeps tripping me up
Please use light colored yarn for tutorials. It's easier to see the stitches.
Oh, thank you so much for this intricate tutorial. All the ither videos I watched just rapidly performed the stitches, started midway through the project, and didn't supply instructions on how to follow onto the next portion, so I learned absolutely nothing. Im a visual learner so those videos that just rush through everything aren't useful at all. Your video is so helpful!
If you want it slower change the speed to .5 for a drunk sounding person and slow-mo
Are you crocheting into the back, back facing you, after you make the turning chain?
thank you for the tutorial my child is going to learn it everyday she said she will save you vid so she can just watch this on offline
Once you've done the first row, it looks like you go into the 5th chain from the hook when turning.
What about making stocking for Christmas but the heel?
Thank you so much. Its been years since i crocheted and im trying to make a baby blanket….i know what was going wrong now 😊
how do you single crochet around the edge of that double crochet piece.

Gina Frechette I have another video for that! It’s called “Simple Border” and you can find it if you click to my channel and look at the list of videos.
Great video, but I wish you had used white or a pastel colour so it's easier to see.
thanks for the video. but why do my holes get bigger as i crochet?
where to place that last double crochet of the row is the hardest

Yes! And the fist dc of a new row is tough too

I’m confused but shouldn’t it be 17 double crochet if you had 20 minus the 3 for the first stitch?
@kristiconine1547

You should go in the 2nd chain instead of the 3rd
Gaah how am I doing the exact thing you're saying but it looks so drastically different

@@b0bb11 SO! I found out I was not letting the tension do it's own thing. I was tightening on the first double loop pull-through instead of holding the post lmao
I don’t like how my blanket sides be rounded
i keep messing up :(
