    By heating it up like that ,you just took all the temper out of the axe,,,why do you think it sharpened up so good!!!! It take time to put a good edge on a axe that has good temper in it,,,!!!! Them old days are long gone now,,,,!!!!!😎😎😎😎😎😎

    I was aware the temper may be affected somewhat in the ax however, it did take much longer to sharpen then what was depicted in the video. It held its edge fine after felling the oak tree. I don't think it lost much hardness, maybe a little, but I'm not splitting hair.... Only wood :)

    Yeah not a good idea to heat an axe up like that, the temper definitely got ruined
