If you want to wear the shorter boots wear tights that are as dark(opaque) as the boots. You get a similar affect as the long boots

Tights look great with boots! I know you shook your head "no" on several of these, but frankly, every piece you showed looked great. You are an artist with clothing!

Honestly, this all looks fine. Maybe it's because I like skirts and they always look flattering to me.

The irony is the first two don't outfits looked way better and stylish than their corresponding do outfits. Nothing wrong with having a gap between hem of skirt and the boot at all.

I have really long legs, and don't think anything could make them "look short", as she described it. I always wear heavy boots with my mid length skirts.

That is absolutely not true!!! The fact that everyone fits into the "don't" category and we see those looks everywhere on the streets makes people believe that is the right way when in reality it is not. The gap between boots and skirt is totally aesthetically unpleasant.

I personally think the first look is cute! The tall fitted boots look uncomfortable. I don’t care how fashionable a look is - if I’m uncomfortable, I don’t look good in it. If you’re worried about cutting off your vertical line, wear darker tights.

Thank you for the video! I love wearing skirts in winter and wear them much more now than in summer. It is just easier to me to layer for Norwegian winter with a skirt than with a lot of trousers. Now I really want to find myself a pair of tall boots in a colour that isn’t black.

I love the combination of a short black dress with over the knee black ribbed wool socks and shorter Boots (Chelsea Boot Lenght). This gives the illusion of over the knee boots. Maybe it can also work for you.

No I genuinely wouldn’t follow this advice either except maybe the last one , different body shapes & shape of the boots (if they’re pointy or rounded) will drastically alter these choices either way.

The 'donts' look less polished, but they were all cute. For the most part each outift looks like someone put care and effort into their styling. If I saw someone wearing one on the street, I would still think they look put together, especially if they had the attitude to complement it.

I love pointy boots on everything.

Side note: If you're a Flamboyant Gamine, ignore all of this lol. You actually WANT to "break up" the outfit & wear contrasting colors. Wearing all one color makes FGs look pulled down to the floor & shorter. Breaking up your lines will be more harmonious with your vertical & petite.

First recommendation is ok in theory but needs a sleeker silhouette than the outfit you put together. The oversize sweater + wide skirt NEED a "break" in the outfit so you aren't just a blob. With the taller boots, your proportions got screwed up, made you head look huge and made you look shorter overall. Same with the second one. Your tall boots didn't actually match your tights. The tights might be labelled "black" but they LOOK brown. The short boots at least matched your shirt, the tall boots looked like you got dressed in the dark.

What about us whose calves can't fit into boots (knee- or thigh-high) and we're left with only ankle boots to wear? I love Lydia, but this video is completely disregarding the fact that we're all different shapes and body sizes. P.s. Weight has nothing to do with calf size.

Personally I like the don'ts . I would wear those as ut is easier and comfortable. What she recommends is more like something a model would wear but not really something that you would wear for 8 hours in the office. Especially the high boots. After 8 hours I want to trow them out the window. And driving in them.. The look is one thing, particality is something else

I just don't care for the tall boots at all, especially the fitted boots. In both cases I liked the booty looks much better.

I think with a midi skirt, lace up boots in any height work well too because the laces break up the line where the boot starts.
