It must be the area I am in, but I usually see at least 1 shop and deliver order every time I go out. From my experience, do not take any order that is less than $1.00 per item ever. After doing a few with item counts higher than dollars for the order, I can tell you those less than $1.00 per item orders have no tip, and you are seeing just base pay. That applies to Uber Eats as well.

In my market, I get most of the Shop and Deliver orders during the week, especially after everyone has gone back home after work. People spent their whole day at work and in traffic, they are too lazy to go back out to do their own shopping. As opposed to weekends where everyone is out barbecuing and they have more time to go to the store. Also, I used to see them once every two weeks but a soon as I started accepting them more and more, the algorithm started sending them my way way more often.

Sometimes I like shopping, if isn’t a lot of items and if the items aren’t medicines (harder to find).

Yes it is worth it. I made $33.75 on a 5 mile Walgreens run that took maybe 25 minutes tops.

Shop and deliver on my favorite! I like how DoorDash sends out a recap at the end of the week or is it every two weeks, just showing how many you doing how fast you were things like that.

I see shop and deliver orders often as there are not only two Walgreens leading up to my preferred hotspot here in northern Utah, but I also regularly park at a Walgreens with good proximity to other places to deliver.

I see shop and deliver orders very regularly and usually decline them. Walgreens, Dollar General, CVS, United Supermarkets, etc. Often too many items to be worth it. And usually they suck, I have a hard time finding items, and often the item will be out of stock, and I've never seen a hidden tip on a shop and deliver.

In my market I only dash Sunday mornings. I usually get and do like 4-6 shop orders. All over 20 bucks usually less than 10 items and under 5 miles. I love those order out here. I've made 100 bucks in 2.5 hours just off shop orders

Shop and deliver is my #1 favorite on door dash. Low miles, 1 item, and most of the time $10.25 payouts

I hate red card orders. My area is crazy and there's never a dedicated cashier. So there's always a long time to get a cashier plus calling for substitutions. I won't do them again. My last one was Pet Smart. One bag of live crickets, $3.75 ,16 miles into the surrounding county. $1 tip plus 14 miles back into area.

A big con to these orders is when a store doesn’t have an item. The substitution process can cost you a lot of time especially when the customer is unresponsive. Also your tip can/usually does decrease if you deliver without all the items because you can’t find it or they’re all out.

Shop and deliver is pretty random where I am at. I think the key is the number of items, and checking out the list of items while on the way to the store. So you can get an idea of your shopping path. I get a lot of Dollar General orders, it took me a while to get used to those stores because they look like a bomb hit them most times, but now better.

I love S&D on Doordash. I can use my loyalty/rewards. I'm racking up tons of points. Uber specifically says not to use them.

personally in my market, I would never take a shop and deliver. The payouts are usually low, no tip included. But the biggest issue is on a whim. I did take a shop and deliver order. It had a higher payout around $6.50 and it was just one item. Then I get to Walgreens and find out it's not one item. It's two big items. And to make matters worse, it was delivering to a nursing home facility so the person whom the order was for didn't actually know they had something coming. I felt good that I was able to help someone who absolutely couldn't get the stuff on their own. However, I was duped because I thought this is going to be one small item. It's not going to be that hard and it turned out to take a lot more time than it was worth. It took around an hour to deliver and I could have been working, picking up smaller orders and achieve more in that time.

Shop and deliver are hit and miss for me. The last one I did was at Walgreens several weeks ago. I went in, shopped, went to pay, red card declined. Called support. Tried again. Tried a different register, kept calling support. After trying to check out for a half hour, I gave up. Called support for half pay and they turned me down. I was pissed because it wasn't my fault. The cashier said another dasher before me shopped the exact same items, and their card was declined, too.
