I mean Mr nobody is amazing maybe because the actor make such brilliant job. It has a very specific Humor and is still dark and serious. It is very pleasent to watch. At some point I was thinking should I quit? Okay I watched one episode of another series then come back (Legends of tomorrow loose at some point )

Couldn't agree more. This show broke a lot of ground other comic book shows were too conservative to broach. The Danny the Street episode alone was incredible for representation and LGBTQ positivity without being preachy or try-hard

I think Mr.Negative mans mental karaoke was entirely unnecessary and pointless, when just having him say "I don't sing" twice would have carried the entirety of the scene...then there's the goon squad that's so "look at me, I'm generic bad guy" when any normal military squad would start "neutralising on sight" ...also An entire episode was being sacrificed to stall the story so they'd get a comic book... honestly, the B plot was more interesting, and Negative man is being reduced from "crippling trauma and isolation from deadly radiation" to " "crippling trauma and isolation from gay"...that's his entire character now... And he's supposed to be free and happy and let go, and not remember that not only did he push away his gay lover, but also his family. A LA gay coomer drag millennial wrote this episode AND it was so preachy

Honestly, this is still thus far the only live action superhero adaptation to truly capture just how fucking weird comic books can be.

Hi. Just watched the entire 3 seasons of Doom Patrol. What you've said about the series is spot on. It blends weirdness and emotion well enough to make this likable. Can't wait for season 4

It's funny that the Doom Patrol series does not escape its absurd history, the last time I saw something like that was with Superman Christopher Reeve and Spiderman Tobey Maguire.

I can remember when the Doom Patrol was introduced in an early episode of Titans, there was something about them that made me want more and I was glad we got this series. I don't think I went back to Titans after season 1 but I'm always waiting on the newest drop of our favorite misfits in Doom Manor

I am glad that Doom Patrol is getting more attention Most people stopped caring about the show by the time Season 1 was over and that's really sad

Doom Patrol is a masterpiece..I can definitely say it's the best Live Action DC Show..The performances are solid along with the genuine creativity in the writing..All of these concepts can also be utilised perfectly for either a Metal Men show or An Animal Man Show if they ever get made

Okay I'm going to go watch the tv series now.

Owen Doom Patrol is what I wanted Titans tv show to be 1. Focus and develop all the main characters. 2. Has one villain for a season or utilize them to work in characters on self-contained stories. 3. Embraces the source material ( specifically the camping weird and silly aspects of the comic) 4. It's storytelling is Well written and tacos very dark social issues which requires the rated R to be necessary (not used for swearing boobs Gore and sex) 5. The tone it's more of a drama with some comedic moments. 6. The characters are fully develop and overcome their inner demons.

Indeed, especially since Titans tv series is based on the new teen titans of the 80s where it had the same points that you said. As much as I enjoy the show itself, I think what really held the show back was 1. The over saturation of the R rating tone. I get they wanted this show to be mature and dark since Titans comics had dark storylines like Terror of Trigon, Church of Blood, Titans of Tomorrow, and Titans Hunt(Rebirth), but it was never about being dark, edgy or cool, it was about these teenagers facing their own inner struggle as they become adults. Being mature and dark is more than just gore, sex, dirty jokes, and swear words, it’s the message that you are trying to tell to the audience that makes it mature and dark. 2. Personally I would rather for the show to focus on the original founding members(Robin, Kid Flash, Aqualad, Wonder Girl, Speedy, and Omen) then bring in the characters of the 70s run and mostly the 80s. Cuz this show could’ve been a great opportunity to show the audience the true long history of Titans/Teen Titans and mainly not be something resembling the 2003 cartoon. Now I love the cartoon, but I’m getting sick and tired of every TT media trying to incorporate the cartoon. And with the titans tv show, it feels like the cartoon but have a darker tone and if it was rated R. 3) Focus on the main characters first(within at least the first two seasons) and then add new characters. Also I would personally start their antagonists with lesser known villains such as Mister Twister, Ding Dong Daddy, and the Fearsome Five first than bring their most popular villains such as Deathstroke, Trigon, and Blackfire. Hell, HIVE would be the perfect main antagonists of the whole show, since they have a long history with the titans(they’re actually the reason why Deathstroke and the Titans are eternal enemies in the first place).

doom patrol praise is the best kind of praise. thank you for this. this show has so many great moments but i have to say the moment when dorothy sang pure imagination was genuinely one of the most heart warming moments i have ever watched on tv. so good.

Doom Patrol is a masterpiece show for people that have mental or physical disabilities it's great there a show that talks about it outside of legion TV series.

Imagine if Doom Patrol ran into Legends of Tomorrow through the multiverse? The heartfelt weirdness would be over 9000 and then some!

especially if the legends pick theird weirdest teammates Like Nora Dahrk / Fairy Godmother, Firestorm (Jax and Prof. Stein), Ava (whose backstory is a manufactured clone that they mass product in the future as a sort of "perfect person for anyone to buy"), Constantine (alcoholic wizard who has faced god knows many horrors, sometimes self inflicted), and Sarah Lance (trained as perfect assasin who has died like thrice). Also ATOM (who has survived being straned in the prehistoric times, in hell and in space)

I love doom patrol its one of my all time favorite shows and i am so happy this show actually exists and tells a great story about these characters and tells a great message of healing and we are all human which is fantastic. :)

Finally , this show is getting the proper recognition it deserves

The first time I ever saw or heard of the Doom Patrol is in the Teen Titans animated series where Beastboy and the titans have to save and then join forces with the doom patrol to stop the Brotherhood of Evil.

One of the things I appreciate about doom patrol is that it's willing to acknowledge it's Root's "koff koff" arrow

I didn't know a superhero show of misfit rejects could cover the subject of trauma so well

This show is my favorite and I'm so glad you and other youtubers are giving it love. I love how perfectly it blends the incredibly weird with the beautifully heartfelt seamlessly

Doom Patrol is good, Robotman is my favorite character.

Thank you for this thoughtful and heartfelt contribution to Praise Patrol. I only discovered Doom Patrol late last year (through a friend, who gave me the Negative Man karaoke segment when i was in a very vulnerable space) and I've greatly appreciated this series. I enjoyed your review and recap of what sets this series apart on TV as well as in comics.

Owen likes comics I don't know if you will read this ? But can you do a video on the Arrowverse. I know that those shows aren't perfect & somtimes they are even cringy to many , but they hold a special place in my heart as well as many others . At the time when DC movies weren't able to get their cinematic universe properly set up , their TV division they did that as well pay respect to many previous DC shows and I would like you to say something about them both the positive things and the negative things about those shows. They don't exactly have the highest of budgets but they still have a passion put into them. BTW great video.

It is the greatest superhero show probably tbh still. So underrated.

It’s truly incredible how accurate to the source material Doom Patrol is compared to every other comic adaptation out there. Danny the Street, Flex Mentallo, Mr Nobody etc are all things I previously thought were unadaptable but this show proved me wrong.

I recently discovered this channel. I am glad I did. Great stuff!

For me it's tied for first place favorite current tv shows with the boys, but unlike the boys, I own a lot of Doom patrol comics and like you I am amazed at how well they've brought it to the screen. Truly an example of a " perfect " comicbook tv show that I hope we can enjoy for many years to come. Way better than anything Marvel is putting out in my opinion,but let's see how the Disney+ shows turn out,but being a bit of a dc fanboy, I doubt those shows are going to take first place for me.

Legends of Tomorrow wishes it could be as wonderfully weird as Doom Patrol.

Doom -patrol was great. Sadly it makes me even more disappointed in "Titans" because I actually read the comics and enjoyed the source material more. Thanks Dc for making two good projects.

I think titans are much better than Doom patrol

Personally, and objectively speaking, I still consider Netflix's Daredevil to be the best live action superhero tv series, but doom patrol is definitely up there in my top 5, only rivaled by The Punisher and The Boys. What's holding it back is that it's season 2 wasn't able to get a proper ending and release its 10 and last episode for the season. Depending on how well season 3 of it is, that may very well change, and doom patrol definitely has a shot.

Love Grant Morrison, also creates my favorite version of Klarion

If only Titans could I've been as good,but regardless doom patrol is really good

Robot man looks really cool in the tv series

Personally I think the women own this show on performance alone, not to take away from the others who do an exceptional job. I think this show delivers the best version of Cyborg, even better than the comic version, but it does help due to the character focus of the series, it's just weird that he's in this show... Larry is probably my worst of the main characters, I find him very bland and one note in comparison to the others but he is still a good character. The thing where this show struck gold was getting Jeremy Carver as showrunner, I was worried at first because I haven't read Doom Patrol and I knew Carver from when he took over on Supernatural, and he added a goofy sense of humour which I wasn't a fan of, however upon watching Doom Patrol and learning more about them I realized Grant Morrison's run was the comic reference for this series, so the things I didn't like from Carver previously really helped when adapting Doom Patrol, his style plus Morrison's is an amazing blend that helps the show.

Daredevil is my favourite superhero show but man Doom Patrol is a close second

Well.... Saying it had 2 Full seasons deserves an asterixis. Season 2 got an episode cut because of Covid. And losing even one episode of this amazing show really hurt :(

Doom Patrol se 1 & 3 were fantastic, but we didn't really adore se 2. Our favourite DC tv show (including Peacemaker)

Yay!!! S01E04 has my FAVORITE ?Scotsman? ? ?Irishman? ? Oh, bloody hell, it's Crowley!!! The DOOM Patrol team is a great ensemble. So far, they are each written and acted superlatively. I heard Crowley do the opening to a diary/report, and paused the episode to say, again, thank you for turning me on to Doom Patrol. :)

Love the video! Would you consider doing a video on Krypton in the future? Felt like it was an incredibly underrated series that was cancelled before it's prime.

I feel like the answer is the show simply just does away with making stuff too grounded or real, it just embraces the insanity from the original comic and comics in general.

I definately agree with you mostly but I think that's just one problem: It's not a show about super-heroes per say, the campy and the fantastic is there but as the video points out it's a show about the misfit super-hero. I think to make THE perfect super-hero show would be to apply this formula into something like the classic DC characters in the same fashion as the New Frontier or All-Star. Said that, the show still my favorite comic book adaptation in over 10 years.

It starts awful that much I can tell you, cuz I just litterally just watched the first episode and here I am looking it up hoping it gets better, cuz the first episode is really really bad. Like were supposed to feel bad for cliff/robotman but the first scene that we see him hes cheating on his wife and were supposed to feel bad for what happend? No the only person I felt bad for was his daughter. Rita's an ass, jane is an ass rebel teen cliche, the only one that's normal and or likeable is Larry and the doc.

Of course I've watched The Boys, I love it and it's probably my other favourite show right now. I'll probably make a video on it next year when the new season drops.

I am considering checking this out but because it's on HBO I am nervous and I'm not trying to waste my time. Hoping for an HONEST ANSWER please... Is this show another woke SJW disaster or did they manage to stay away from ruining their show with all that nonsense?

It has lgtbiq+ representation but it blends with the story (which is great and hilarious) quite nicely and making a lot of sense thematically

This is damning with faint praise when you consider the competition!...still too woke for my taste

I started collecting comics in the 60s before I was even in 1st grade. I was never much for DC but I did read the less popular stuff - Doom Patrol, Metamorpho, Metal Men and Challengers of the Unknown. You actually like the Doom Patrol show? Imho, it's a disaster, a total mess. Crazy Jane is the only char who is not totally annoying. The plots are awful. Are the writers constantly tripping on some bizarre new drug? Worst superhero show ever. Well, maybe not as bad as the crap on network TV. Titans is a lot better. Even the childish MCU movies are better. The NetFlix stuff was far superior.

It’s good but overrated in my opinion.

This show is mediocre at best. Its sad that media is in such a shit state that mediocre is a high bar, and gets labeled as "perfect".
