I'm out 3500. I finally quit being upset a few years ago, until I'm reminded of it.

This used to be mine for a few years. Loved running it as loud and clean as possible with pedals. Had matching 6x12 cabs for it as well. Sold it to move on to more efficient and versatile sounding setups

For anyone wondering what the deal is, it's a long story, but basically look for any amp built by John McNeese. He was the master builder at EA and apparently is responsible for the quality and sound of the amp. Hope this helps anyone

I come back to this video every now and again, I think its one of/the best documented footage on an electric amp (they're rarer than documented alien footage!) I have researched these amps for years, I love the logo, the history, the giant FUZZ KNOB (on the master volume units,) just everything about these amps strike a chord in my brain. I have seen a few of these sell and always regret not pulling the trigger. I will play one of these before my time is up. Thank you for the video Mr. Fuzzlord. I don't know if this comment is just nonsense rambling, or if you've ever had a similar thought with other pieces of gear. cheers from NY

Had the same thought about this amp and somehow it magically turned up in town and the owner offered to let me check it out. I wish I got to check it out after it headed to the shop for a tune up, the power tubes were on their last leg in this recording

Jason, thank you for making a quality demo of this Electric Amp. It sounded so brutal....until it died haha. Also, I played a show where the guitarist from one band back-lined his Electric 412 cab. I had never seen one in the flesh, so I asked him about it. He told me that he waited years to get it. Anyone who is thinking about ordering from Electric Amp USA, definitely take Jason's advice and do some research ahead of time.

I’ve never heard of this amp before, but I really like it! It gets a great break-up sound, but I love how smoothly it grows the wool ;) So sorry the demo you intended got a little botched, but what I saw was killer! KEEP PLAYING LOUD! Cheers!

OMG the look when the fuse blew has me crying laughing. From rocking out to "wait what huh?"

I used to own the master volume version of this amp. I had this, a Matamp GT1 and an Orange OTR-120 clone that I built. The Electric was my least favorite out of the three. It does the Sabbath thing real well but that's about it. The Matamp (which I highly recommend) and the Orange can do what the Electric amps does and way more.

Will post a vid of the band shortly . Prob all instrumental. Cant wait to crank this amp up!

What serial number ?

Would love to hear an HM6 on this thing or any older Orange for that matter. That pedal has given me my favorite tones so far. I'm just using it with an Orange microdark currently due to being in a tiny apartment; that amp's got great death/doom tone for the size/price.

I always thought that these were just one of the many names that Matamp used to operate under. didn’t realize they were a different company lol

Have you ever thought about doing history videos similar to maybe 5 watt world but for companies like Matamp, Electric Amp, Laney, etc? I love listening to you talk and you're well versed in the music and circuitry so I don't think there's anyone better suited than you to teach us oh wise doom wizard 🙏🧙‍♂️

I remember trying to explore these amps thinking they were Matamp because they said Green. I also remember looking at their website feeling like I was lost in a maze lol Nice to hear that they’re legit.

#3 tube was apparently bad before it blew. . I pulled #2. put half the value of fuses in their place and doubled the cabinet ohms from 16 to 8. it works fine at half power this way. planning on dropping it off with The original builder John Mcneece to have retubed and some other upgrades.

I acquired a Fuzzlord ftw 45 and love it. When will the ftw120 be available?

Great video Jason!!! The amp sounded good, but I’m a solid state guy. After reading the other comments, I’m not sure I’d be down with that company anyway. Sounds a bit sketchy. The amp I really want is the Orange CR 120, all the demo’s I’ve seen of it were really great and it’s solid state. Right up my alley. Anyway, great job on the demo!!!🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼

yeah, the company is owned by a scam artist. they made some great amps by John Mcneese. this in was made in 2010. make sure u get an amp made by him. do not buy new from electricampusa!

Nothing sounds like an Orange. Best amps I’ve ever played. AD30, Rockerverb MkIII, Jim Root Terror, TH30, all fantastic amps.

Update: Dropped off this head with John Mcneese this past weekend. Turns out someone servicing the head should have replaced a faulty resistor but only replaced the tubes Should have it back in good health in a couple weeks. Will post some sound clips shortly. The reverb seller agreed to pay for the repair. Update. Picked up the amp several weeks ago but havent had a chance to play it. Still trying to get the band together. Got a potential drummer that i will be getting together soon.

They have a unique sound and I think was fairly normal until the fuse/tube blew. Really cool to see such a rare amp!

What's is the controversy of these amps. I hear there's something bad about the company and I can't find ANY information about them

what he wanted to say in the beginning was, hey so this company has like a 3 year waitlist for an amp cause its just one dude making them. At least i know this is the one that was on reverb recently for 2500, the guy who owns this didnt custom order it.

Yuuup. iirc they also tried to spread rumors and shit about Matamp’s QC to try and cover up their own QC issues. The gain texture of this thing is about right but damn, that *is* a lot of mud and not a lot of low-end to compensate… Neither the ORs or GT i own have that level of mud to ‘em, and more thump and midrange to compensate.

Yeah these amps sound cool but apparently the dude had some egomaniacal break down and amps were taking 5 years. I’d suggest getting a real Matamp or a Science Earthling.

So the EA site claims that they "fixed," the old Matamp design and made their's "better." I've been trying to find comparisons or more reviews, but I keep running into that HUGE issue with the wait time and "all sales final," no refund stuff. So I mean their site says they are up to date as far as their licensing, but still seems sketchy af, since when you call, all you get is that doom riff on the answering machine. Any info on that to help me solidify my next over the top, no need for an amp that ridiculously loud but I need one purchase, would greatly help.

Late to the party, but I don't like the sounds coming from this amp at all.
