Legitimate question: was Hayden/Seraphim already corrupted when you met him? Hayden pretty wanted Doomguy to destroy VEGA/the Father when he told him to destroy the AI core to open a portal to hell. The only reason VEGA survived is because Doomguy made a copy at the last minute because he didn’t want to destroy it. Hayden would have let you destroy it and, due to him not instructing Doomguy to make a copy, he didn’t care that he was destroying the Father.

@@sommer4570 it seems that in his exile from Urdak, he took human form and adopted the name of Samuel in order to colaborated with them, but this body was imperfect and can no longer sustained him, so he transfer his mind into a robot

@@sommer4570 He cloned a body and transferred his essence into it, the human body began to configurate/mutate so he had to make a robot body to transfer his essence into. Maykr's underwent a process in which their body and mind would eventually deteriorate after which they would be forced to undergo resurrection, these rebirths however were compromised when the Father became a life sphere which mean't that while they would still be ressurected.. They would lose their identities in the process and basically come out as a new being. Which btw.. Why would they need argent energy to stop configuration if they could just put their souls into robot shells like Samur did? Really goes to show how stupid the Khan Maykr was.

There’s a page in the codex that shows the aftermath of the battle between the father and Davoth. It shows Davoth’s lifeless body tumbling down a cliff, along with a crucible blade. Could the crucible used by Davoth go on to become the demonic crucible, corrupted in shape by Hell’s manipulation?

In the Case of the Dark Lord, I don't think he's The Slayer or even a clone. The Father states that the Dark Lord is the strongest and Fiercest Warrior to exist in hell as only someone like that could lead hells army. The Slayer to this Date is the strongest Fiercest Warrior that hell fears. So the dark Lords physical form will be the Slayer. However, if the Slayer didn't exist, he would assume the form of another creature, truly feared by the denizens of hell.

the game gives quite a lot of evidence suggesting the opposite. all of the corrax depictions of the dark lord fit doomguy's appearance. the dialog with the intern before teleporting to urdak suggests that the dark lord has one physical form; his original one.

The Dark Lord existed for over a decillion years, and is one of the earliest beings in the earliest realm in all creation. The Dark Lord isn't an evil Slayer. Doomguy is the GOOD Slayer.

They are both Primeval, gods created to protect and lord over their respective realms. While the Dark Lord was created with incredibly long life, Doomguy was instead created into a cycle of rebirth. Every generation he is reborn as a new being, a great warrior who doesn't realize who he truly is. It just so happens that this Doomguy somehow found his way into the Sentinel civilization just in time for the war against Hell, and Samur (recognizing him as a Primeval) gave him power through the Divinity Machine, knowing that he could one day grow powerful enough to challenge the Dark Lord and defeat him.

And if doom slayer destroyed the father's life sphere, wasn't it because this was a trap and that was actually the khan maykr's life sphere. Maybe the seraphin wanted to resurrect the khan maykr, and Doomguy recognized this yellow sphere and destroyed it. Afterwise it was the seraphin who betrayed Doomguy. Maybe that's the reason Doomguy took with him the dark lord's sphere and resurrected him, because without the father, Doomguy would do the work by himself. Probably in another game we will find the real father's life sphere, and something else will happen.

''The only thing they fear...is you'' - this now explains why demons always attack the doomslayer even if we believed he meant they fear the player, in reality, they fear the Dark Lord which is the other doom slayer.

When the Dark lord and the Slayer came face to face this was basically the prophecy of the one who will rise and the slayer will taste defeat. I don't think this means the Slayer is going to be killed in this fight in the ancient gods part 2 but I do believe this is going to be the first time we see the Slayer get his ass beat. Think about how much this raises the stakes as up until this point the Slayer has steamrolled everything in his way.

I remember in doom 2016 the dark lord said not to let him reach the demonic crucible. In the comments of a previous video I theorized that the demonic crucible was crafted in the likeness of the slayer crucible. I also said that the slayers time in hell was long, he also needed weapons. So I think the slayer created the demonic crucible to slay while he was in hell since he didn't have his old one. It's just a theory but not many, if any at all, thought that was what the dark lord would have turned out to be.

Now we look back at the prophecy from the tree in doom 2016, it would seem that the Slayer will taste defeat in the second part

maybe not, because he wont achieve victory until the Dark Lord is dead and thus Hell is defeated. I think defeating the Dark Lord will be his victory; but the Seraphim, in his new corrupted form and fueled by vengeance (not unlike the slayer himself), will rise to power via the demonic crucible and become the next big bad

The doom slayer you play as looks like The original Primeval aka davoth aka the dark lord or devil. Davoth was made at the dawn of time, the slayer didn't come around until eons later but is still a primeval of earth dimension.

If the dark lord is hells doom slayer, then that makes doom slayer the earthly realms god, as it said each realm could only contain one, they'll probably fight in hell, hell will be destroyed because they're both there

I think the second part will end in a battle with the Dark Lord however I don’t think that the Slayer will be able to kill him. I just can’t imagine them killing off the big bad ruler of Hell in a DLC. The Dark Lord will likely be the big bad of the third main game if they are going for a trilogy. Edit: A lot of people have been saying that the devs said that the story that started in Doom 2016 will be wrapped up in this second DLC pack. People have also said that we could fight some of the other higher up demons of Hell in the third game. If this is true then that seems pretty disappointing to me. The Dark Lord of Hell should be the ultimate final battle. It would be like if they killed Voldemort in the second to last Harry Potter book/film and then in the final one it was just them killing some of the higher up Death Eaters. It would be especially disappointing since it’s a DLC pack for the main game as DLC packs are often seen as small add-ons to the base game so less people will get them. Edit 2 (If anyone is actually reading this) They actually killed the Dark Lord in a DLC pack. The story was pretty cool however it felt very rushed since there weren’t many levels due to it being a DLC. I think that this story that they have told should have been a fully fledged sequel to Doom Eternal. It would have been nice to have the DLC explain the gap in between Doom 2016 and Doom Eternal instead.

Which would make a second main trilogy with similar story beats. The First Trilogy Set-up: Doom guy is mandated to kill civilians by an officer, basically betraying Doom guy's morals, good thing is he doesn't do it so he is sent to mars. Doom = Set in an UAC base, Doom guy tries to escape yet is roped into murdering the shit out of demons, travelling to hell killing it's guardians and the Spider Mastermind returning to Earth. Doom 2: Hell on Earth = Doom guy finds himself in a world he once knew destroyed completely by the spreading demonic corruption, in order to stop this he must delve deep into hell to face off against The Icon of Sin. Afterwards just kinda chilling around squashing whatever demons still appear. Doom 64 = Doom guy finds himself against a brand new threat of terrible and hellish implications, a Mother of Demons. So he goes to hell to beat the hell out of her and stays in the horrid dimension to fight eternally until... The Second Trilogy Set-up: after becoming the Doom Slayer shit starts popping off yet again...because of a betrayal by his brothers in arms, though this time a very fucking physical one Doom 2016 = Set in an UAC base, The Doom Slayer must now murder yet again a bunch of demons, travel to hell, kill it's guardians and stomp the Spider Mastermind for like the fifth time now or something, eventually returning to Earth because... Doom Eternal = Hell on Earth...again...world destroyed, added thing of executing the Priests but eventually facing the Khan Maykr and then The Icon of Sin to stop the demonic corruption. And after that, he's trying to think of a solution to stop the demons from appearing again. Next Doom = The Doom Slayer must now face the Dark Lord, he who commands Hell's armies. Possibly destroying or containing him, and either continuing his crusade against hell for all eternity, dying to finally seal all of evil or retiring after countless years of necessary bloodshed.

@@FylinB563 I read somewhere the dark lord doomguy was created to be a copy of the original but more easily controlled(a weakness) because the original doomguy couldn't be/wasn't. Who created evil doom guy? He is said not to be over hell itself. But instead just the leader of it's armies. So my theory is part 2 dlc will be eliminating his evil equal. The next game in the trilogy will be doomguy seeking to destroy the actual one over all of hell itself. I felt that theory allows for a continuation of the story.

Hugo Martin has confirmed that the Dark Lord is not a alternate slayer from a alternate universe. If you read the codex it’s only taking on the form of the most powerful being it knows. So people thinking “ the only one they fear is you “ line still makes sense in different context. What other form would a Devil take than one it subjects possibly fear more than him.

The Book of Enoch states more but the Book of Enoch is not noted to be an official chapter of the Bible. Among the angels named in the Bible only one is stated to be an Archangel, and that’s Michael.

I Think the dark lord is more then just a physical copy of the slayer, but the slayer that stayed in hell to fight the demons, and instead of being teleported to the night sentinels he never left hell and he just killed his way to the top and became the very thing he hated most, plus we already know of different timelines and versions of the slayer

I kinda thought Quake is the time he spent in trial.

I knew Sam was the Seriphim that helped Doomguy the minute I saw that flashback cutscene. The blue light thing on his face was uncannily similar to the one on his cyborg body including the voice and mannerism, so it was pretty much a dead give away.

I want Sabaton to make a song about the History of DOOM.

My line of thought is you're 1) from another reality of the fathers making and the direct opposite of Daroth/altered so the outcome isn't the same or 2) the body of Daroth which fell down the mountain, awoken, a bit like Vega you are divided in spirit and mind. I think it's most likely 1 due to what the Father says

From what it sounds like the dark lord is just what the demons see whenever the slayer rampages through hell.

The thing everyone is forgetting is how does the divinity machine (the one samur used to give the slayer his god powers) fits into all of this lore since the slayer didn't have that much power before he used it

Maykrs can't enter Hell and retrieve the sphere, but he'll be waiting at the Ingmore's Sanctum? The Sanctum is IN the Dark Realm/Hell/Jekkad, so how can he be waiting for him? That makes absolutely zero sense ID Software. I know you can't answer these, but I'm just putting the questions out there to ponder. 12:26 - Why would the Seraphim take the Fathers life essence into Hell itself when the Father purposely sealed off Hell to ensure his powers wouldn't be absorbed, regardless of whether this Sanctum was unreachable or not? So the Father tells the Seraphim to take his life shere into Jekkad if Jekkad's powers became too much? Huh? There's always a risk of someone reaching this sanctum and resurrecting the Dark Lord or absorbing both spheres. Davoth is still capable of whispering/influencing Mortals, right? Why not create a new reality separate from Urdak and Jekkkard/Hell to house his life sphere? And he did all his work from this sanctum? That's in hell? That he sealed off beforehand? Must've been before Jekkad turned into hell, which is why it remains what once was. Still, it's a part of hell, so it's ultimately reachable by Hell's denizens. 27:12 - How does The Father have the power to teleport his body away but no power to do anything else? I suppose he's using Urdak's technology since he was installed into Urdak, right? So, was that huge Maykr body floating in the bowells of Urdak in Doom Eternal his body? That can't be right, he's formless, right?

The slayer is a constant entity as in there exists multiple variations of him,and the two we see are our slayer and the hell slayer. So the slayer and devil are the same thing,the devil isn’t a corrupt slayer nor is the devil taking his appearance.the devil is the slayer in hell’s realm

Wait im confused now. Are we talking about different timelines here. Where in one timeline doomguy/slayer was consumed with evil and become the lord of the hell. ? And in a different timeline (That we play) he was not consumed by evil ?? Now if this is correct from what timeline did the Evil doomguy come from ?

You deserve a like and subscription. Unlike midnight who just wanting to make a 3 min video into 13mins with all his ranting and begging for likes, and in the end it's likely to be a clickbait, you go straight to the point and calmly explained the lores.

If you just want my opinion.. 1. Fun battles. 2. Annoying when you get overwhelmed. 3.Spirit-invaded demons are a challenge and take alot of ammo. 4. Jumping puzzles still weren't my thing. 5. It is more difficult if you want a challenge. 6. Amazing Story! *This is what I liked the most*

I think the ending cutscenes refers to the idea that the Dark Lord is taking the form of the most powerful thing it can think of; as the rule of Hell is strength is the rite to rule. So the Dark Lord just takes the form of the slayer because it can't think of anything more metal.

@@Juan-sr7rf Not entirely true. IIRC codex states the Father never truly kills anything permanently. And even if I'm wrong, it makes sense - if the father were resurrected, the dark lord would still only be locked up, not killed.

The Father will just seal Hell again. He never wants to kill off The Dark One. Sealing Hell will not stop demonic invasion around barriers of Hell dimension. Not to mention, the seal will be broken again in future due to some weird reason and the cycle of Hell coming and going will repeat. Only killing off the Dark One is the permanent solution to the Hell problem and DS intends to do it.

Remember when this series was shooting demons and finding keys?

This brings a whole new meaning to facing your inner demons

For a game of which its creators stated that games didn't need story, it has gotten one of the most unique and bad ass twists on religion ever since Lucas came up with The Force ... ... all i can say is ... this is fucking awesome, and i love it. Carmack can shove a fat one up his ass, Doom deserved a story and it's by far one of the best, even if with the heavy exposition, it never over-hyped or spoiled you straight up or be too obscure to care for like Dark Souls. Whoever wrote the story at iD / Bethesda, deserves an award. And this one? This game series? Game of the year, for 10 years straight!

I just had a though, what if in the next game, the Slayer wasn’t fighting Demons? If you were fighting a corrupting, demonic-like force, like say, a vengeful Maykr civilization or some new enemies, with the same rapid combat as Eternal, something like that could be interesting and a big change for the series

For the ending when the demonic slayer is created (dark lord) i think it means something like here in this dimension you as the slayer / doomguy are the strongest and are fighting for the humans, but in their world / dimension this is the you /slayer /doomguy whom is fighting for the demons. Like in this world you are fighting for humans whom are the inferior species (in this case since demons caused chaos all around and are at a crisis of extinction) and you are their leader, not king you do not rule over them you are the strongest warrior whom fights for humanity and their existence. While in their world demons might be the inferior ones but it is still the you from that dimension which is fighting for them, since he is not the king, he is the strongest fighter which is the same for our doom guy, not king but the race still depends on him since he is the strongest.

The Narrator: ...sharks are present in this area... Doomguy: Oh cool, snacks.
