Great idea of making audio logs sound as if they're coming from PDA's speaker, which they actually are. But what with the background sound? Like some kind of machinery working.

I know for sure it's from Quake 2. Presumably the log was recorded while there was machinery nearby; hardly a quiet spot in Mars City, much less in the maintenance sectors where Frank worked (Mars City underground).

@@DinnerForkTongue Underground isn't strictly maintenance only, I'd argue. They likely had storage facilities, offices, and more that we just aren't fortunate enough to see. We'll probably never know the true extent of the base's size or scale.

in doom 3 its really hard to hear the audio logs because they're alot quieter than all the other sounds
