The scary thing in this ending are the words: "It's good that no hell-spawn could have come through that door with you" Then there still lies that "door with you" during the last cutscene. It's well made.

That ending still gives me goosebumps, one of the best games ever

I remember when I used to play this game on the PC and I watched my brother finish the game. I watched the ending with him and when I saw the rabbit head... "MOMMY!"

That ending is just... perfect. It wraps up the story very well, gives the possibility of a sequel and remains satisfying. God Doom is awesome.

@@rekius328 Scorpion in MK1 avenged his death and killed Sub-Zero (the older one). But at the cost of his own peace. He will never enter Heaven and must wander around Netherrealm forever

Fun fact, the image used for the bunny scene was also used in Sonic.exe, so if doomguy saw Sonic.exe with his dead bunny, oh man, you gotta believe there will be blood.

Killing Doomguy's pet rabbit is worse than killing John Wick's dog The transition from happy music to "oh fuck, they're here" is flawless

I had a dog named Daisy, she was put down about a month ago because she was just way too old. She was about 16 years old, and the poor girl was having all sorts of horrible problems. I miss her.

Me, as a kid: Thought the Mortal Kombat 1 pit looked creepy. Doom: Hold my stimpack

I remember being a little kid, playing through all three of the episodes on my grandpa's crappy 8mb RAM computer on low quality graphics, going through all that trouble and time to finally beat the last boss. Then I saw the happy music and the bunny and I felt really calm and relaxed because I made it through the toughest monster in Hell. Then the music started getting weird, everything was on fire, and I saw a rabbit's head on a stake and I was terrified to go NEAR the computer afterwards.

This right here, is a historical moment in gaming

First time I beat Doom I accdentally hit the space bar and it went right at the decapitated rabbit and I was like WTF!? So I had to replay the final level again to see the whole ending...

Probably a masterpiece of music. From a sweet beautiful tune to a dark horrific tune. Can give nightmares

I remember traumatizing my little sister and her friend with this.

The fact that the text at the bottom stays as the end scene plays out is ominous when you know what happened.

The image of this dead bunny has stayed with me my entire life.

and this is how doom 2 started

This ending actually touched me, imagine going on a rampage through hell to save you species, but when you come home (after killing all the demons and the big evil robot spider,) you find nothing but death and destruction, all you've worked for, is gone, you literally went through hell and back, but in vain, you hopes, your dreams, your planet, your species, you family, and most importantly, your dear bunny daisy, is dead now. Imagine what that does to a man. Fuck man, Id did NOT hold back with that ending.

I remember watching my dad play this when I was like 7 and seeing this part. Freaked me the F out seeing that rabbit head! I get goose bumps from this still - the music is perfect. Then a year or 2 later going to the PC store and seeing Doom 2 on the shelf was so hype, lol. Good times - kids these days will never understand the glory of early PC gaming.

I've been looking for this EVERYWHERE! I loved that game so much! I think I might still have it.....

Well, this proves that even Doomguy/Doom Slayer, as incredibly powerful and destructive he is, even he has a soft side for cute fuzzy things. Pray that's the only side you see.

Killing the spiderdemon was the easiest boss to kill, shoot it 3 times with the bfg the pull out the rocket launcher and fire 2 times and he dies

Or maybe die on the last level and lose all your weapons and see how hard it is with the pistol, rocket launcher, and plasma rifle

When I was a kid, I always thought the rabbit on a pike was DoomGuy literally punching up from Hell, like he finally got back to Earth, and a Rabbit just happened to be above him and he fucking punched the rabbits head off from beneath the ground.

According to director Hugo Martin, Daisy can be found on every level if you search long and hard enough. I think it's supposed to mean that Doomguy has gone a bit mad with grief and is seeing Daisy everywhere in his mind.

When I first played I just thought it was some random bunny he decided to kill. But then I found out it was doomguy's pet bunny,killed by the demons,which made me cry a little.

I think the music makes the visuals more scary
