2 year later, I listen to this almost everyday when I wake up.

My family and I watched this the night we learned my grandma had passed away and now we watch it every year on her anniversary to celebrate her life because the first time we ever watched it (live on TV) was with her. I have a vivid memory of being propped in front of their old fashioned TV watching it in their living room. Nothing will ever recreate those moments.

i love that Joseph sings the first half to Jacob. it shows that despite growing and humbling himself, he still learned a lot from and owes a lot to his father. it’s amazing.

Donny osmond will be forever an extra oridinary performer that is seriouesly umder appriciated by the world.

With this role, Donny Osmond proved to the doubters that he is a talented, powerful singer. Way to go, Donny. Wish you could reprise this role. "Children of Israel" is chillingly beautiful.

I saw Mulan before finding this on KZread, so I knew he had the chops. Children of Israel is the best song in Joseph.

Donny osmond is handsome in his voice soothes me with tears of joy

The theatre I'm involved with is doing this show. We open next Thursday and I landed the role of Jacob. When we do this scene, I'm led out to see Joseph, I'm nearly moved to tears on stage. I try think about a father seeing a son he's not seen for years and thought was dead. I love feeling the power of the moment. It's so strong and intense.

I saw Donny as Joseph on Broadway years ago. He owned the part.

This man has talent that today's "artists" only dream of having

This is my emotional therapy. If I'm depressed, I just watch Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. All is good 👍. Thanks Donny!( and Andrew Lloyd Weber.)

@ Lynn Rose,... uhmm yeah, Donny Osmond GREW UP in a MUSICAL family. He has ALWAYS been a Great, talented and entertaining Singer. As a Single Artist, His first hit, was with Puppy Love, and He sang with his Other brothers as THE Osmond Brothers, and He also had hit records recording with his sister Marie, Long before they were approached about the idea of creating and singing on the Donny and Marie Show. FYI, Marie's 1st number 1 hit was with the song Paper Roses.

Good to hear. You always get a sense about people, and though I've never met him, he seems to have a genuinely lovely aura about him.

Donny was the greatest Joseph. He had it all: the voice, the look, comedy, drama. Exceptional!

Donny shows that he came from a very talented family.

Donny Osmond is fantastic. He sings beautifully.

Donny Osmond coming out in Vegas in his Rock and Roll solo during The Donny and Marie stint -- was the closest thing to ELVIS I've ever seen. The man can sing ANYthing and he ROCKED the Rock songs and shook every woman in the audience with his ballads. THIS -- is perfection. His diction is impeccable, he's breathing from his intercostals and using full voice and effortlessly. A talented man, a wonderfully sculptured handsome man and truly one of the most gifted singers on the planet. He's got his own show in Vegas starting this August -- already sold out on many dates. Legendary Icon --- but THIS without question is HIS...he OWNED Joseph.

I actually worked back stage on a production of this at the Embassy Theater in Skegness in Lincolnshire UK as well as other musicals BUT this was in my own humble opinion the best ever, and i got to see it twice a day.

This is one of my all time favourite musicals. Donny Osmond owns this role. He is Joseph for all time!

I saw the play with Donny Osmond played Joseph he was great. It seemed that part was made for him!

Back on 1993 my girlfriend at the time was living in a Chicago and she dragged me to the production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat, I went of course, but I loved it and am still listening to this song in 2023

Donny is an amazing performer, l adore this musical, that's a lot down to Donny's singing, acting ability. At certain moments in the show you're totally lost in the moment. Always my favourite Joseph x

Donny had taken this role and has made it his own. Fantastic!!!

He is definitely one gorgeous, looking man. Even at the age he is now. He may be in his sixty's, but he's still as handsome as ever.

Donny Osmond played Joseph in Toronto for three years. I volunteered at the theatre it played at, and I was fortunate enough to see him perform the show three times. He was really good and he’s such a nice person. I was there the night he did his final performance, and there was not a spot in the theatre that was left empty. People were sitting on the staircases, and in the isles. That’s how popular he was.

My great grandma and me used to watch this all the time when I was little. I absolutely love this musical. Makes me cry. ❤

How amazing that this popped up for me today. Exactly 29 years ago, on July 4, 1993 at 3pm I saw Donny Osmond in this role in Vancouver, BC. This showed up in my feed on July 4th, 2022 just after 3pm! As I listened to this I could transport right back to that moment 29 years ago. A truly memorable performance!!!

our teacher made us sing this song in primary school and now 10 years later it's stuck in my head, such a great song

Yeah we did this way back in 1981 in Juniors, then they took us to see it at the Crucible, been hooked ever since, about 3 weeks ago we went to the Lyceum to see it again.

James Sullivan I watched this taped version in Pre-School and Kindergarten, so about 8 years after it was released on VHS, and I absolutely loved it. (I have a pretty good memory back to when I was 3 even!) Then in 6th grade I saw it performed at the high-school in my church’s deanery, and they did a great job too! (Basically that high-school “sponsors” the Catholic K-8th grade schools I guess if that makes sense) I forgot some of the music, but remembered most of it, and when I watched the musical on KZread a few weeks ago I became obsessed again!

Donny Osmond is seriously underrated as an artist. The majority of the "singers" today pale in comparison to his singing ability.. So sad.

100% agree. Donny has long been underrated; he's as good as anyone out there, and better than practically anyone today. Put him and Marie together, and the two are untouchable as an act, and obviously have been since about 1976 if anyone paid close attention to the "Donny & Marie" show. No surprise to those that did pay attention, that "Donny & Marie" have been continuously rated the "Best show in Las Vegas" for the past 9 years running!

This musical seriously makes me cry so much. I was in this show at 11 years old at school then years later, I remember watching this at the theatre, and it was when H from STeps was Joesph. I was sobbing to this song . It does something to me, and i sob . Now im hoping to land a part in the show in the theatre! As my all time favourite musical, this would be a dream come true again..i mean..any dream will do...right?

He really hasn't done so bad in life! Society's taste change with time. He came back into favor. Some don't.

I saw it twice, don’t remember one actor, but one was Patrick Cassidy, not Sean or David, but very good. ALW fan, this one is one of the best, especially the way it came about.

I so loved this musical. Still have all the music on a playlist.

I've been lucky enough to see this twice at our beautiful Fox Theater. The traveling cast was alright, but nothing compares to this.

When we saw this at the theatre in Toronto in 1996, they hooked Donny up 20 feet in the air, and he floated up and had a huge multi-colored coat flow down. It was AWESOME!!

I saw it in Toronto in 1996 also. My husband said with a bit of scorn, "I can't believe I am going to see Donny Osmond." Afterwards he raved about Donny and said how perfect he was for this role. The scene you describe truly was amazing.

I have a knitted jumper (pullover) that has many colours, not all of which would usually put next to each other; I don't always wear it these days but it was given to me by my stepfather as a special gift; and this song always reminds me of him.

His range is fantastic and the breath of his talent is amazing. I wish I could see his version of this wonderful show.

Donny Osmond and I are the same age. I couldn't have a crush on a guy prettier than me. THEN, when he was Joseph he looked better in eyeliner than I ever did. I give up! He is such an underrated performer. He can act and sing so, so very well. He proved that he could dance on Dancing with the Stars. He has such star power. He should have been a Broadway star. I believe that his "problem" is that he is a good guy and never had any scandals in his life. He gave the tabloids nothing salacious to splash on their front pages. Now we are both 64 and he is still prettier than me. Sigh.

I agree Tony , love Donny Osmond and always will. Thanks for all the many years of memories as long as I can remember
