He was a true angelic genius. Soul to the power. He reminded me of my late man. He was a very talented musician and singer but shunned the music industry and Hollywood. I cry when I hear Donny. I remember when he passed. I was 10 and glued to my transiter radio. It broke my heart when I passed. I know I felt Roberta who must still grieving. They were divine.

@@ballostyleTwo totally different singers. Donny wrote his lyrics and music. He didn’t need anyone for that. He wasn’t a drug abuser and arrogant street man like Ruffin. That’s an insult and no comparison!!

This man was so incredibly talented and vulnerable in his delivery. I remember my mother listening to his music as a small child, she passed in 1977 when I was 9. I remember clearly her singing along, the hurt and pain, delivery of the notes, my mother sang like an an Angel. It is amazing how music can leave such a lasting impression. I listen to his music now as an adult and classically trained musician with a different appreciation of his lyrics and arrangements. His daughter Laylah inherited his gift and carries on his Legacy with her own talent and Classical training. I hear the hurt, the soul and the hope in his voice and it still saddens me how his circumstances brought his life to an end. Both voices are so similar sometimes haunting, but so sweet and it sends chills thru my body and comforts my soul. Yes music is Healing for the Soul, mind, and Spirit. Thank you Donnie Hathaway.

When I first heard Donny singing A song for you, my soul was so moved. It touched something deep inside me and I couldn’t stop playing it. I played it over and over and over until I learned every word and could sing it with deep soulful meaning like Donny. His voice touches me so. I love you darling Donny. DONNY HATHAWAY is my FAVORITE ARTIST OF ALL TIME. I was blessed to have met him and spend time with him during the early years of his career with THE RIC POWELL TRIO. We actually sang PRECIOUS LORD Acapella together when the Ric Powell Trio were performing in Tampa, FL. I will always remember his GOD GIVEN TALENT. I also see it in his beautiful and talented daughter LAILA HATHAWAY. It is so amazing that I hear him when his daughter is performing. I miss you DONNY HATHAWAY! REST IN PEACE 🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️

Oh!!!! Did you know him!!! So sad that I was born when h had already passed away. I wish so much I had lived when he was alive. I wish I had met him. It just breaks my heart. I don't know why but I kind of feel like he must have been a very sweet AND LOVING GUY.

I want to thank Adele for doing an interview on Q where she reveals her musical inspiration for her newest 30 Album. It was Donny Hathaway and Al Green! The soulful singing and bluesy instruments all tell a heartfelt story. Thank you for uploading abs to Adele for carrying on the music we all love! ❤️
