    @@toolreviewsandrestorations thank you. 1 question, I'm trying to build 1 of these. But I have not put in the posts, that you call the bones. Is that ok not to put them in do you think ? I have a solid floor so I can't put any posts in the ground anyway ?

  • @toolreviewsandrestorations

    If it’s well secured to the floor and the pallets are well connected together with 40x60 lumber or something similar, than it should be fine.

    I like the idea of using pallets. My question is how do you keep the donkey from eating or chewing the walls. I have a pony and she started to do this and I've seen donkey's and horses do this as well. Have you run into this problem.ans can you do a video on how your donkey shelter looks today? Thank you for sharing

    I don’t think the donkeys chewed it, probably because of the tarp that is on it. It’s not my shelter, I built it for a client so I don’t think I can do a video. Thank you for watching.

    What did you treat it with? Pallets are not treated wood so won’t last long

  • @toolreviewsandrestorations

    @toolreviewsandrestorations

    I didn’t treat them because they will last long enough raw. Thank you for watching

    Where is this located at? I live in Oklahoma and it gets Very windy here. How does it do in the wind?

  • @toolreviewsandrestorations

    It’s in France. It does pretty good in the wind, I think part of the tarp might have been ripped off a little while ago but I don’t know if it was the wind that did that.

    What are the green metal posts for? Is it for support?

  • @toolreviewsandrestorations

    They are mainly for tying it down to the ground and keeping it in place so that the walls can’t move as donkeys bash against them

    Alot of work but those pallets will be rotten in a few years and you'll be ack to square one, throw in a foundation and build some concrete block walls it will last a lifetime. or use some steel uprights with treated timber runners and screw on some metal side sheets as well.

  • @toolreviewsandrestorations

    @toolreviewsandrestorations

    That was out of the budget and the client would have had to get a building permit for the foundation.
