Oh my God.. Its nostalgic.. Used to spent hours playing this.. Me and my brothet used to play this turn by turn.. Seeing this after such a long time.. Tears in my eyes..
I had this when I was a child, I actually swapped it for a stop watch which I regretted - 37 years later and my wife brought me another one in great condition bringing back many happy memories 🙏😍

Ok
Nice video and fantastic game (I have one too, a childhood memory found again on eBay) but I think you’re misreading the high score on that polystyrene. Looks to me like its 704 by “PC” in 1990. 1990 is a year, not a score, as the maximum possible score on this game is 999 - the counter literally won’t go any higher than that (it does say this in the instructions too).
I stored one of them in my cupboard.... for about.....for about 30 years....? few months ago I showed it the kids.... after that I left it on the top of a fireplace.... which we fired the day after ....okay, it´s still working, but.... now we know - plastic melts.

I used to have one of the Nintendo Classic Mini series, it was Donkey Kong, I was so disappointed that it wouldn’t work anymore, I couldn’t see the sprites on the screen for some reason, it was probably the battery, I tried to find some new batteries but I got no luck, so I gave it to my friend, I miss it
Awesome video! I just love the simplistic style of the characters.
Very good game, actually. When I was a kid, we played it for hours and hours every day.
Last week I got a used one and I will pay it. I love this game. It was a part of my part and know it is a part of my memories. Thank you and greetings from RetroGameCity :-)

Hi Retro, thank you for watching. I've got mine on the shelf again at the moment just running in Demo mode. When I stop and look at it, it reminds me of when I used to stand in front of a shop window when I was a kid, just watching it.
Amazing that old.
The object of desire of my childhood. Today is collectors treasure.
I could never afford these when they came out. Very popular at my school, but my pocket money would never cover one. :( Great to see one in such great condition.

Can’t believe what you can find on KZread.Shocking!
My dad got one from Malaysia in 1983 and we brought batteries a bit ago and it still works!
I had one back then! My best score was around 1300-1400 points. Cant remember exact. It was pretty fast when you got there. I used this as an alarm clock when I was a kid. Tip: when you go up and pull the lever you can just go right quickly and jump without waiting for the chain to swing. Lever, right, right, jump in one quick motion.

but this can't be true, the score resets after 999 , so you would mean 999 + another 300 or 400 thereafter, I suppose ? I remember the game speed went bananas right after the score resets from 999. Kong goes complete ballistic on light speed.
I've still got mine but haven't got the box. I've just played it and it still works well. I got mine brand new when it came out. I had no idea is was Mario in it!
My mom used to have one of these and I played it all the time! I remember it being bigger and more chunky though 🤔
@XZeroOneArmour

You were small, so it must have ''relatively'' felt big & chunky.
Phew thanks for this video, I have bittersweet memories of this console because back in 1993 a schoolmate brought it to school and it did the rounds (as in there was a queue to play) I think it was you borrow it for a day and night each and then hand it over to someone else (or back to the owner). As (bad) luck would have it; when it was my turn the ribbon connector finally gave in and the screen/s weren't working anymore. I had a torrid time trying to explain to the distraught owner that I hadn't done anything out of the ordinary to it since I didn't even get to take it home. So ever since I have been trying to recall what it was called only to discover your video today, I recognize it from the distinct orange colour and that ribbon, oh that blasted ribbon lol. Anyway, thanks for the nostalgia.

My older sister had one of these and I remember playing it a lot when I was a boy back in the early 90s. It's was fun to play and I liked the clock function, which the lcd game I had of my own, while a good game, lacked. Last year I found a well used but working example of this game at a second hand pawn shop, I'm now a proud owner of something from my childhood that to me was the ultimate in coolness. I even have a collection of other LCD game units some Game and Watch, others of other makes

If you hold the battery cover after you start a game . Release the cover and disconnect the batteries for a split second returning the battery cover to its place. the result is mario freezes at the top of his jump and the barrels just fly under him. this can be done at any stage of the game however beware of girders.

Hello. Just found mine from the 80’s. I put new batteries in. How do you turn it off when done playing? Mine stays on and I don’t want the batteries to drain. Thanks!
@LeShark75
2 жыл бұрын
Good Game there Patrick, never let it go. You have to remove the batteries to switch it off otherwise it just keeps going in Watch mode.
I have four of these. I’m a Nintendo Game & Watch Multiscreen collector. My personal record in game A is 1728 points. The maximum game score display number is 999, but after this it goes back to 0 and goes from there again to another 999. I have managed to play to around 1400 without any mistakes. At 300 points onward without any mistakes you will get double points and points display will blink. You also get the fourth ”life” there. The trick to get high scores in this game is to play fast and have good jumping technic to the crane. If the player will stand still and just jump those barrels Donkey Kong is throwing then the game play will go faster and faster much sooner. But I can confirm you all that at 1300 => this game is really fast 😉👍.
