I think this guy nailed me! I was in NYC 6 years ago with my wife, walking around in some comfortable half-old black sneakers---and suddenly from 30 feet away in midtown he yells, "Hey Rockport! I know you can do better than THEM shoes, brother...." And "Rockport" is uncanny because I'm from Massachusetts. Wonderful guy! He's much funnier "live," too!

Don's so good he convinced me to get my shoes shined and I was barefoot

I love that he's a trained accountant and pastry chef, but now shines shoes. It's all about the happiness and joy you get out of life, not the paycheck. As long as you can sustain yourself and your family if you have one, then do what you makes you happy.

Believe it or not but he makes more money then an accountant or pastry chef, plus it's tax free. :)

When I go to NY for the first time, having my shoes shined by Don will be one of the first things I do.

This man is more than a shoe shiner. With the way he runs his business is like a salesman and his tactics work. Pointing out an insecurity you can easily fix has been a sales tactic that almost always work because people care about themselves. Even the ones that don’t, they want to impress someone that isn’t them. So this man is a genius

NY is on my bucket list.....now going to see Don Ward is part of that! Talent and energy like his should ALWAYS be appreciated!

The key to corner selling is not having any insecurities about what you are saying. When Don makes a calculated little jab at potential customers, he is fully committed to what hes saying without hesitation or tension. That allows him to have somewhat of a comedic approach which takes people's guard down and gets them in the chair. The host had so much hesitation built into his body language and tone. People can smell a slimy salesman from a mile away- and they smell awful 😂
