DON'T SAY "ADIÓS" (Use instead these common alternatives in Spanish) | Mextalki
Have you heard "Adiós"? This is one of those old-fashioned words that are taught at schools for farewells. But native speakers do not use it that often. But, did you know that there are many widely used alternatives to express the same thing? In this video, we are going to show you some synonyms of this word. This video gives you loads of interesting casual and formal alternative ways to say 'bye'.

Thanks so much! I rarely had this problem since I mostly speak Spanish with customers, employees at Mexican grocery stores/restaurants, and a middle aged Honduran woman that I am good friends with at work so I could always just say “Que tenga un buen día”, but we just recently got a new maintenance guy at work that is my age and he once said “Hasta luego” to me and I didn’t know a more casual way of saying bye so I just said “Adios!” I immediately felt silly because I had never heard anyone actually use that and knew that it probably sounded weird and overly formal 😅

Thanks for sharing your real life example! This is evidently super useful in this context and we’re glad that you can now say much more things to him. I’m sure he will be impressed ☺️
Yessss! Great vid. Do you have one/can you do a vid for "thank you?". I was in Guadalajara for a couple months and every cafe/restaurant/bar I'd go to regularly I would always just say gracias every single time a server came by me to help, I felt like it was too robotic without variation.

😎 Me gusta el video 😎
Yeeyyy thanks! I have never knew what to say, I felt like 'Adios' is something very formal, so I'd rather just wave my hands or say bye :DD

Muchísimas gracias por este comentario 🥺❤️
I spent 8 months living in Hermosillo, estado de Sonora. The common phrase there was "Que le vaya bien."
Excelente video.

This is nice but maybe you could say more of them slower. Only a few were said slowly.
I haven’t heard these before. How do these translate?

Cool vid, but literal translations help. Especially on the ones that could get you into trouble.
