Don’t Forget the weather sucks from October to May. Sure maybe a couple nice days In April , October and November. But you’re kidding yourself to believe otherwise, it’s cloudy, cold windy, rainy and overcast 7 months out of the year. Taxes are also high. I would disagree there’s not much to do in the winter months. Especially in Southeast MI.

Yes, tics are a thing here in MI and something to be mindful of if your in grass or nature areas where they may be.

Yes, they can be a problem( all over the state). We tend to take them with a grain of salt...do not freak out. We tend to take common sense precautions.

When looking at a listing, is the basement included in square footage? I see some homes that look small, But the square footage is huge, and some that are huge, But the square footage is a lot smaller. Makes me wonder how many of them are including the basement and how many are not. Also, how can you tell if it is included or if it is not included?

  • @TRULIVINGMICHIGAN

You must be looking on the "Z" website. And yes, that sq footage is incorrect. You need to be looking at the above ground sq ft which will tell you the livable sq ft without the basement.

Typically, basement space is not included in a home's square footage. Some folks redo their garages into living space( man caves, family rec areas, etc) which are also not included in the home's footage.
