Unfortunately Its been rainy the past two days and is supposed to be really cloudy and rainy for the next 10 days in my weather forecast. I just got a Sky-Watcher Star Adventurer 2i Pro Pack to hook onto my dslr as well. Ah well.

They mixed up the north and south when speaking about the days getting shorter and longer after December 22nd. It should be that the days will then start to get longer in the north and shorter in the south. They have it opposite to what it should be.

Maybe I didn't hear right, but I thought I heard them say that the nights would become shorter which amounts to the same thing as the days getting longer.

Unfortunately winter seems to be so cloudy for me. I actually did a thing last year where i took every night in the winter. 75% of the nights last winter were mostly cloudy or worse. about 15% were partly cloudy and the rest were clear. When it was clear, it was very clear and looked amazing but It was so rare I kind of just prefer summer stargazing. Even today. It is cloudy and was cloudy the past two nights and It is supposed to be rainy and mostly cloudy for the next 10 days in the weather forecast. I hate it.

Seems like winter has less precipitation but far more clouds.

Mars will be at OPPOSITION with earth on December 1st, not at perigee! Planets shine their brightest at OPPOSITION, since they are opposite of the earth and closest to earth! Perigee is its closest point to the SUN, typically called perhelion. That's true for all of the planets.
