1/5/24 DAVID SOUL passed today...RIP.... May your "soul" REST IN PARADISE. You are gone but your music will live on in our hearts and memories. "Don't Give Up On Us" .(1976) .... was a favorite then and now it brings back many sad, bittersweet memories of my youth living in New York City. Still, I keep longing and wishing I could go back in time, turn back the hands of time, alter the past, knowing what I know now ...so many words unspoken....so many things undone,.... We are older and wiser now...the world was younger and safer then....Life was simpler then. This song gives us a glimpse of the past. David Soul, thanks for the memories. Rest in eternal peace!

I watched starsky and Hutch in 70's and one Friday I cried when at 9pm it was my turn to bath. I fell in love with Hutch David Soul and sent him birthday card through fan magazine. Had Davids posters. My sister fancied Starsky and I read this song was dedicated to Starsky Paul M Glaser because he wanted to leave starsky and Hutch , is this correct David? David was married to sybil shepherd and in those days fans were jealous so I wanted to marry his son. We sang Davids songs walking home from school. Heard just now Dont give up .. and fell in love with David Soul again voice hair and face. Im a Dreamer ❤Thankyou for filling my life upto about age 15. Im in 50's now. Love you forever.

I love this memory that you shared. Things seemed so simple back then. I am grateful we grew up in the 70's and 80's.

I remember David Soul from "Starsky and Hutch," which was a great 1970's crime series (1975-79), and also from the American-frontier comedy/drama "Here Come the Brides" (1968-1970) in which he sang a couple of times with fellow actor/singer/teen heartthrob Bobby Sherman (who made the theme song of the show famous called "Seattle"). Soul's "Don't Give Up on Us" is one of my favorite songs from my past.

I was teary 😭 eyed when I found out David passed away cause this song has been with me since i was living in the toughest housing unit facilities in all the world 😢by the grace of the omnipotent savior i made it through but then hard times got me back to square one i lost the only girl i ever loved ❤after being celebate for 17years it took 17years before i found her but unfortunately our love affair was short lived after only 3 months of dating it just hurts so painstakingly much it almost feels like i am in mourning and greivance over a soul that is still walking amongst us its getting to the point where all i do is cry 😢 because I don't want this young sweet tender thing to give up on us❤my heart ❤️ is so broken oh my god I honestly feel so horribly lonely in every aspect of the word it hurts so deeply to lose in Love 😢

Don't give up in Us, with God/ Lord help we can do it, if both why giving up on that long many years relationship. Just a God enters into covenant with people, God ordain as a sacred love covenant 🙏🏻🙏🏻
