Our first full day in Sri Lanka was spent in the hectic market of Petah in Colombo to find a Sri Lankan Cricket Jersey and much more fresh drip!

Finally I am back in south Asia, one of my favourite regions of the world! In a completely new country I've wanted to visit for a very long time, SRI LANKA! We ventured to the local market to find some fresh drip. Not before going on a misadventure with a TukTuk driver who insisted the market was not open. It was in-fact open and busy... We had some mystery juice, some chai and we managed to find all the fresh drip we wanted. Good first day in Colombo, Sri Lanka!

I am a Sri lankan, and we believe that one should never fully trust SL Tuk-Tuk drivers. If they get a chance, they will quite happily rob you. Some, not all mind you. Though the fuel prices are quite high here. The guy was behaving like a slimy salesman. Had there been a native, they would have definitely walked off instead of haggling.

Where did you stay in Colombo? Is there 9.5km to Pettah from your hotel? If so, your tuk tuk fare would be 950LKR as it's Rs.100/- per km.
