I was in Sri Lanka back in May of this year with my wife who is a Sri Lankan Tamil born in Malaysia. My father in law was born in Jaffna in 1934 and came to Malaysia when he was 12. I always heard stories of Sri Lanka and my wife had always wanted to visit her homeland. I stayed at the Galle Face Hotel and visited places around the city. I must say I felt safe people were friendly and the FOOD is unbelievable. I visited the temple in Kandy and of course had breakfast at Bake House. Then there was the trip to Galle and I must say I LOVE SRI LANKA. I am coming back. Despite the economic setbacks people are resilient and they are so friendly and polite. I will never forget the dhal curry, string hopper, different sambols, karawala, umbalakada sambol etc. I can eat this food everyday if possible and I just love the flavors. Next trip is to take the train up north.

This is probably the best video on tourism in sri Lanka on KZread. It was not just Khalid's wholesome and exceedingly respectful vibe that made it reach that height of excellence, but also the inclusivity and diversity of our country displayed in this video as well! Great work Khalid! Loved it!

sadly it is not as simple as that because since 2020 also the cost of living has become very steep globally including sl and many people cant afford even a small break hence it can only be well off rich folks . most countries have a great lack in tourism .

Burning bodys of muslims just to satisfy a political agenda was the lowest of the low. I am just stating how the above government operated youtuber and her partner just claiming to be Muslim just to gain something from a famous youtuber who is also Muslim. These two said nothing and did nothing for Muslims in Sri lanka when they needed it. Infact every time there was racial tension happening because of politics they were quiet.
