The whole point was to get a tire that matched the 4 on the van. If he was going to put a cover on it he could have just bought a cheaper tire with a steel rim. He’ll have to put the logo on the side or something. I think he hinted in a previous video that he had some ideas for some artwork on the side. We’ll just have to wait and see. 🤗😲

@@linda3977 But if you put a spare on after a blowout, you would want it to match all the other tires to continue the badass theme....you can still cover the back tire and be a badass lol....advertising is precious and if someone is driving behind you for 20 or 30 miles you know they will check out the channel lol! Plus, a cover will protect the tire from UV damage...that's a lot of money to spend just to have it degrade...will be interesting to see what he does.

Suggestion: When rotating your tires, include the spare in your rotation. Looks soweeeet.

I can totally tell you were a low rider by how excited you are about the tires and rims!!! Looks so nice!

Love the fact you mentioned that having the professional Handel what they do best. Keep on rolling dude!

I was going to recommend some kind of lock for the rack as well making sure to use some WD-40 before winter sets in and colder temperatures hit. Once Chrome gets ready; the van will be 4 wheel drive and that's when the beefy bumpers join the party!

It looks really nice. Does it have a lock on it so no one walks away with it. Years ago my folks were at elbow lake in Ontario its as far north as you can go + 3 hours N. on a logging rd. They were fishing when they returned everything was gone. It was kids from the reservation but they hadn't seen anyone for like 50 miles. The funny part was they didn't find the money. My mother hid it in her tampon box. The kids were to afraid to look. 🤣🐶

Cool add, now all you need is a VanCity Vanlife wheel cover.

Treat the entire tire with 303 Aerospace rubber protectant to prevent it from UV/oxidizing cracking 👍🏻 It doesn’t make it too shiny or slippery, I use it on engine belts with no issue.

That's not true everywhere. I know people that never take the keys out. I lived in Milwaukee for awhile. The block where I lived everyone's cars were getting broken into. Windows broken. Terrible. I left my car unlocked and a dollar on the dash. Nothing broken but a note saying Thankyou,!

OK i've definitely been wanting to do so much of it by myself but the MaxxFan I have just been debating going to a body shop with. I just broke my jigsaw test cutting some scrap metal at my work and then this video today....I might take this as a sign to let a PRO have their go at it

Looks so good Chrome, looking forward to the rest you're going to have done...and, I also agree with the previous comment, may want to look into having a security system for your van especially due to the value increase you have done to your van just to be on the safe side from any possible theft, it has happened to a few other van lifers that didn't until later they finally had installed one. I don't know how I missed this a month ago! But I'm so glad that I found it I need the same thing for my van. I had the one that stuck to the door and it messed it up. Besides that it wouldn't let you open the door all the way it was very annoying. Thanks for sharing

Looks like a solid unit! And looks killer! One thing I noticed, as you swing the tire carrier back , the tire comes into contact with the the brake light lens. Something to consider when your on an incline or windy conditions. Love your channel and you and Cruz be safe! From Redding California

Hi Chrome, just a recommendation or two for your wheel mount: 1) place a tad of grease on the medal bar that catches the latch and 2) you may want to invest in a wheel mount lock (learned from experience that I got my tire stolen off my mount and it was a regular rim and tire while I was in Vancouver).

Aluminess is some quality kit ! My 1991 Chevrolet conversion had mag wheels and a tire carrier bolted to the door. Never again!
