It's only 70 lbs, and relocates my tire and gives me modular options moving forward. Originally, I looked at high priced, and heavy alternatives, but this is my clear choice.

I just can’t see this system not completely vibrating itself to death after time and constantly needing adjustment. The leverage on that 2” receiver is crazy. The concept is really cool though. Easy install.

Thanks man, I was always wondering why they don't utilize the tow hitch as a spare carrier. Now someone made it.

There’s a better one than this one, from dirtcom I received mine yesterday a wow even has a lock for the swing out to avoid to hit the car

Like the concept and your vid. According to RIGD install video you missed the recommended torque and tire mount screws were put on backwards.

I got one when they had there big Black Friday sale with the Frontrunner table. I’ll test out in Big Bend National Park next month! 😀

1 - I sure hope no one got bit by that hissing snake :D 2 - Back when I was 18, my 4Runner used to shake like that all the time side to side :D I'm 46 now and I'd rather watch 4Runner/camping/overlanding videos on YT - it's cheaper in the long run and you get to keep more of your stuff. 3 - I have one of these for my 1999 Lexus LX470 - very stout, but I wish mine "tucked" in a couple inches closer to the bumper. 4 - Install is easy until you start wiring for the license plate re locate. I ended up cutting my aux. trailer plug and locating the hot/ground by trial and error for the lights.(could not locate a pin diagram) I ordered the ones on Amazon rec. by RIGD. Keep in mind this is a diff. vehicle than the new 4Runner they used in their install video. I did not want to tap into my rear tail lights because I have a tail gate and didn't want those wires in the way. Overall, my version is pretty clean, you don't really see the wires since I used the snake skin sheathing for my wires.

I love this system. What I don’t like are some of the products you can buy; I should say the cost. Ie- the bicycle rack extension, $100.

I've been eyeballing these for a hot minute for my Runner.

You have to relocate the rear camera and that means running a wiring harness to the head unit.

Good Review. I am going to save up for one of these as well as a spare tire, or I should say, pay off my CC to charge it back up. Needs a License Plate Holder. I don't think the Law likes it that the tire blocks the License Plate. Curt makes a Tow Hitch license plate holder. Could go on the bottom "hitch" a bike rack on the top hitch. 👍

Rigd supplies a lighted license plate holder with the kit that mounts to the rack and plugs into your 4 pin so that the lights work when needed at night.

Your making me spend 💰 lol. I'm going look into one of these for my Tacoma.

My thought exactly. It's out there! Looks like you could just cut it down and re-insert the wedge tension system. Might have to drill a new pin insert though

The lever to release the swing is on the out side...is it the early model ultra swing is on the inside or you can swap side

WOW.. PRICEY!! Hell for that kinda money worth going with a full blown bumper setup. Was hoping being half the product it would come in at half the price.

$1,250 plus tax and shipping is no small purchase. Out of box reviews are worthless And only serve the manufacturer. I'd like to see a 2-5 year product review to see how it holds up. ( wobble, noise, God forbid reciever fracture) I'm looking for one but have a mortgage and Before I spend this kind of cash for tire Carrier,I want to see a long term product review for I pull the trigger

Very true. The only downside would be that a homemade one would send you to jail if it was to fail while towing. From their website, it's officially rated at 10k lbs I believe, assuming the liability for you in case of accidents. The traffic police would have a ball here with you if they pulled you over while towing a trailer with no official weight capacity stamped on it.

$1500. Seems steep.
