The Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA) for protein varies depending on factors like age, sex, and activity level. For most adults, it's around 0.8 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight per day. So, for example, a person weighing 70 kilograms would aim for approximately 56 grams of protein per day. However, individual needs may vary, so it's always a good idea to consult with a healthcare professional for personalized advice.

Ramya akka, I love your videos. You are so thorough, and everything is explained very easily so that we can understand the content. I did try the INN course myself, and I found it wasn't for me so I didn't finish it, but to be able to complete the course successfully, knowing how difficult it is, I'm so proud of you. You've made use of your platform so beautifully. Thank you for your help, akka always! You are a huge inspiration to me.

Thank you so much, Ramya. I am vegetarian and I don't even take eggs. Sometimes, I feel too lazy and tired to do strenuous work or even just sit and do nothing. In spite of my inability to explain how bad the situation was, my whole body ached severely. Certainly, outsourcing and bringing a complete meal to the table will be challenging, especially for vegetarians and vegans. In spite of the fact that I am still struggling, your video has highlighted some of the bits and bobs most of our friends are missing, especially vegetarians. Once again, thank you very much for such an informative video.

Good video with some insightful information. Few bullets to watch out for: 1. plant food stand alone will not match the amino acid profile of animal foods, because of the nature of the distribution. the only perfect match for human muscle rebuild will be human meat that matches exact profile. when choosing plant foods, food synergy plays a major role. for example sambhar/lentils nobody eats by itself, but eat with rice/millets that matches the protein. She did touch this part well. 2. Animal foods does come with animal protein and enough studies show the impact on animal protein on plaque layer buildup in arteries and Cancer( look for aflatoxin and Casein study as an example) 3. Animal foods almost always come with saturated fats( most plant foods are lean in saturated fats, except Coconut oil maybe) and the impact of saturated fats on LDL is undeniable, esp for folks with sedentary lifestyle. 4. There are many foods(some mentioned already in this video) that are very rich in protein: Edamame, tofu, pumpkin seeds, chia seeds, flax seeds and sunflower seeds and some are definitely not expensive. You will always lose a battle if you try to find a single plant food rich in full protein, it who eats just one food item in a day anyway! A combination of a good plant based diet will satisfy all needs, except B12 that needs a supplement. 5. If someone is plant based and needs additional protein, malt /protein powders are not that bad and need not be demonized as artificial etc.

Can you please make a video for an average woman who is not working out much and who is vegetarian, how can you add maximum protein sources to your meal? Say you are eating just 2 meals a day and you need to get atleast 50g protein, how can you do it? What are the numbers with right protein sources? Please let us know as i am sure many women are in this boat. Also we know soy, tofu has great protein but nowadays most of soya has GMO and also creating estrogen issues in several women. So how do you get so much protein if you avoid soy? Please let us know. Thank you

This was definitely helpful. I’ve been relying on spinach, lentils, tofu and yogurt for my protein sources. Based on your video it’s clearly not the case. What do I do to get 75 gm of protein per day from a vegetarian diet( no eggs) ? 1/2 cup lentils, 6 - 2 X 2 inch pieces of tofu and 1 cup of yogurt wii get how many gms of protein and what should I do for the remaining gms of protein?

For vegan or vegetarians another good source of protein that you get in abundance is from soya chunks, but again its a modified form of soya beans which is not good for health. So taking 30g / day of soya chunks is fine.

Whey is heavily processed food which causes gut inflammation. I take plant based protein consisting of brown, rice, quinoa, pea. It’s clean unlike animal based food or supplement. Humans are more spiritual beings rather than physical. Vegetarian foods makes meditation easy and helps in your spiritual journey. Remember all illness starts first in your mind. No health is possible when you constantly cause misery and suffering to another being be in animal or plant.😊

What is your qualification? Are you a dietician or nutrition or a diet educator, don't Google and speak something worse Don't spread wrong information. Are you aware of the recent policy passed by the government of India. Only a proper qualified person should speak about diet

Definitely misleading information on vegan protein sources. It also doesn’t make sense to compare a vegan elite athlete’s diet to that of an ideal person, as there are several successful active vegans living on a predominantly whole food based vegan diet, and aren’t necessarily elite athletes.
